Ebullient and talented Luca

Our first trip to Tuscany and we were fortunate to find our way to Luca Bini's restaurant near Sinalunga. Luca is the owner/chef/host. This is his first restaurant, having previously worked for ten years at the venerable La Chiusa. The food that Luca brings to the table is superb, and the attention... read more

After a bit of shopping at Valdichiana it was time for lunch, so a bit of research on TA revealed Il Fornacino a short drive away, and we made a booking online for a late Sunday lunch. It was still quite full at 2.15. Some of the specials were out by then. What we had was very special - local... More

We spent a night at Sinalunga. Our host recommended to us a restaurant, which for a reason we could not find. On our way we spotted this restaurant and we decided to give it a try instead. All I can say is thank God for not finding the other restaurant, as our experience of Il Fornacino was excellent. One of... More

What an incredible find in a tiny town in the Siena region near Sinalunga and Bettolle. Chef and owner, Luca is a charming and gracious host and great chef! Our group of 7 had a lunch and dinner at il Fornacino and highly enjoyed both! From antipasti thru dolce (dessert) Chef Luca has lots of variety to delight you.

We were driving from florence to a wedding in Tuscany and it was lunchtime. We saw a small sign for this restaurant and despite the streets of this little town being absolutely deserted we stopped and ventured into this gem of a place. Luca, the owner greeted us with a warm smile and Italian charm. Even though we went famished... More

My husband and I dined at this restaurant upon the recommendation of our host, William. The food was incredible - the best we have eaten in Italy. The service was also exceptional. Every wine recommended was a delight. If you can make it to this restaurant we would certainly recommend. We would like to go back!

We have visited this restaurant in the past two years and absolutely loved the food, ambiance, and staff. We had heard that ownership had changed this past year and were unsure what to expect when we returned this year. But, we were not disappointed! The ambiance was just as before, the food was superb, and the staff just as wonderful... More

Luca goes out of his way to create some fantastic dishes with a presentation beyond reproach. Be prepared for layered dishes, with flavors that are to inviting, you'll want to eat extremely slooooow! His wine listing is also excellent, with vintages you would not expect and something to pair with everything on his seasonal menu. After eating here twice, it... More

By far the best meal we had during our entire 10 day stay in Italy! We arrived 20 mins before opening and the owner graciously welcomed myself and my 2 adult children in, seated us and entertained for a bit talkjng about his visit to our hometown of Pittsburgh! Wonderful meal, even better hospitality. I tell everyone I know that... More
