Nice place right on the river. We had good service. And the food was fine, except one dish was undercooked, but when we pointed it out, they were quick to replace it with another selection. I'd go back next time I am in the area.

Claddagh is located at Newport on the Levee and has an outside seating area overlooking the Ohio River and this is what saves the restaurant. The service and the food are average at best and other than the outside seating, I cannot think of any reason to make this a destination dining spot. I have been here 3 or 4... More

Raining Wednesday and we had to use the outside door to enter. Shortly after we were seated they opened the inside door. Food was good. The corned beef was a little tough buy otherwise it was a good experience.

We were visiting family in Florence, Kentucky and drove up to Newport to do the River Walk. By 11:00am we were all starving, but thought it was too early for places to be open for lunch. Not so at The Claddagh. We were the first diners of the day, but received excellent service from waiter, Brendan, and assorted other staff.... More

We spent the morning at the Newport Aquarium (which was excellent) and then walked a very short distance to the Claddagh Irish Pub. It is a classic Irish pub atmosphere, with the additional benefit of being right on the river front shore. The Harp beer was a usual great thrist-quencher. The Jameson burger was delightful. It tasted like a hand-pressed,... More

We enjoyed our one visit to Claddagh's. At the time, we had recently moved to the area and were trying a new restaurant every week in order to get our bearings for out of town guests. The waiter was extremely nice and very engaging. We loved the inside decor~very much like what we thought an Irish Tavern would feel like.... More

We went around 1:45 on a Saturday, after the lunch hour crowd had thinned out. We were seated immediately, and it took nearly 15 minutes to have a waitress even approach us (the host had to go get her). She took our orders, and 15 minutes later she comes back to tell my fiance that they are out of his... More

Claddagh's was my son's choice for his 40th birthday dinner. Seating was by an open fireplace with great view of a snowy evening on the Ohio River. Friendly service, good choices for ages ranging from 10 to senior. The grilled salmon on colcannon was perfection, others at the table enjoyed shepherd's pie, baked mac 'n cheese, and steak. Bourbon soaked... More

The location is great overlooking the river, the dark Irish Pub feel is just what we wanted but waitress was slow and stand off-ish. Menu described things well and seemed like great selections but it came out sloppy in preparation and some meals were cold.

My husband and friend went here for Thanksgiving dinner and while the food good and our server, Matthew, was excellent, the customer service from the hostess and manager were not acceptable. We had a 2pm seating time for dinner and arrived about 1:50 and when they showed us to our table the hostess tried to put us up against a... More
