For Fun Times, with an Oompa Band and Lederhosen

We've been there several times, the last in the spring of this year. It's a consistently busy place, with good examples of German style beer and food. I have found at times that it's busy enough that the service and food seem to suffer for it (say, on a crowded Friday or Saturday night), but not... read more

This is a fun place to eat and drink! Typically we aren't big on 'picnic tables' in a restaurant where we sit with other folks, but this place is different. The picnic tables here is what adds to the friendly party atmosphere. You know, that festival feeling. They brew their own beer and only sell their own beer; but it... More

On July 4, 2015 we visited this restaurant for lunch. My salad looked like it had come from a two week old bag of mixed greens, wilted and dark in color. Even the Reuben sandwich was terrible! The bread was soggy, the sauerkraut was tasteless, and the corned beef was dry. Do your self a favor and pass on Hofbräuhaus

We are of German and Polish decent so we know this kind of food. It was just OK. The beer was excellent so were the pretzels-go during happy hour discounts on both-we had the sampler dinner for 2. the brats were good the wiener schnitzel was dry. the pork boring. no gravy to speak of which was needed.

Went here on the 4th of July weekend. The German band was great! The food was excellent! The service was great! We sat at the bar and had a wonderful time. We ordered the wurst plate with a side of potato pancakes and a side of German potato salad. Plenty of food for two people. We ate every morsel!

While traveling to Louisville, KY from C-Bus, we decided to grab dinner in Newport. We'd had a nice chat on our drive, reminiscing about places we've been abd friends we've met--middle-aged musings, since we're not yet old enough to complain about our ailments. We opted out of the 45 minute wait for a table inside and chose open seating on... More

We went to Hofbrauhaus for lunch following movies at the Levee which made it convenient. It wasn't very crowded and we were seated right away. Our server was exceptional, filling our drinks when needed and being available. The menu was just so-so - not enough German food for my tastes. I had the schnitzel sandwich which was very big, but... I love German food and this being my second visit the the Hofbräuhaus in Newport was disappointing. The sauerbraten was just that, sour. Hardly edible. The red cabbage, German potato salad and beer were excellent. If your thinking of going, do it, but beware it might not be as good as your grossmuter used to cook

Atmosphere is great- although this location has 2 separate rooms, which makes it in my opinion, the most ideal for 2 types of dining, Family vs. FUN. The second room is a LOT quieter, so if you still want great beer and german food, you can choose this room and actually hear each other talk. The other room is perfect... More

You'll definitely have a good time at the Hofbrauhaus! The bier garten is a great place to relax with friends during the warmer months, but inside is so much fun with the live band is much more enjoyable now that they do not allow smoking inside. The beer is great, always get a liter. The food is great, I recommend... More
