Lunch in Midway

Traveling from Cincinnati to lake cumberland, we like to take in little towns along the way. Midway was just that! Cute spot to stop. A few shops and a great selection of restaurants. Had a fabulous monte cristo sandwich and big ben sandwich at Darlin Jeans. The service was great! We'll stop... read more

I'm just not a fan of white bread and processed cheese, and the salad is way overpriced for what you get. My son really loves the debris sandwich, though. And my friend raved over the french onion soup. And the cobbler is excellent.

I meet with a friend about once a month for lunch. Today we visited Darlin' Jean's. The prices are about average. Service was great! The food was good. I had the hot brown and my friend had the catfish Po' Boy. We both agreed that while our food was good it was average. And we were glad we chose to... More

First, let me say I have been there in the past and not had any problems. However, on this particular trip I ordered the debris sandwich which was cut in two. the first half was fine but as I was eating the second half I detected a very strong taste of mold and was forced to get up to seek... We are locals and we recently went to Darlin Jean's with family who were visiting. Everyone enjoyed their various sandwiches and salads. We all agreed they tasted fresh and the bread was above average. The waitress was extremely friendly, upbeat and efficient. The decor is unpretentious but pleasant. There is a good selection of beers (and other drinks). Highly recommend... More

First time here. Loved everything! Tried the Bagel melt with baked potato casserole. Delish! Oh, and then there's dessert....blackberry cobbler. Have mercy! And my waitress, Sam, was super nice!! I'll be back soon

Darlin Jean's is family run restaurant names after the Matriarch of the family. This is one of our favorite restaurants in Midway. The foods is excellent and the prices are good. They have local wines and serve an excellent Kentucky Hot Brown.

We eat here often, they have very good food. Our favorite sandwich is the monte cristo. The onion rings are the best we have ever eaten. Usually have good desserts. Service can be a little slow at times, and they are closed on Monday and Tuesdays I think. Midway is really neat place to visit, like going back in time.

I think if you are visiting Kentucky for the derby you must make a stop in Midway and Darlin Jeans. The food is good, the staff is welcoming and the atmosphere is Kentucky. This place will remind you of home and the town is something special. Eat, Relax and Enjoy this wonderful small town restaurant.

One of the best sandwiches I've had but can't remember the name! Basically, it was roast beef, two cheeses, on a good roll. Very tasty. I had the loaded baked potato casserole as a side. Wonderful! My wife had the chicken salad which she said was good. Everyone was friendly, clean....including the restroom. Yeah, they do need to address the... More
