After driving for two hours to eat at Ristorante Becattini, we found that it had been closed since January. This after we had thought we made a reservation earlier in the day. We evidently had one of those lost in translation moments while on the telephone...sounded like the gentleman was agreeing to our time, number in party, etc. Strange things... More

This is a family run restaurant and every customer was personally greeted by a family member which made the welcome very warm. The food was freshly prepared and cooked to perfection by the chef and owner Danilo himself. You still saw Danilo in the dinning room attending to your needs and making sure your meal was perfect! We would highly... More

well...even we've visited the restaurant and Chianti area during low season, still it was incredibly beautiful, even more, without crowd and noisy turists, no hasty & dusty itineraries...In the restaurant we felt more than welcomed and surprised by their hospitality and high quality of food. La fiorentina and wine, salumi & formaggi....everything was so tasty, simply orgasmic pleasure of eating... More

Hands-down one of the best eating experiences we had in Italy! Steak with Pepe Verde and Ravioli were exceptional, as was even the simple salad. Wow. The manager/owners were extremely sweet and attentive.

We stay in the apartment Il Cipresso from the family Becattini. Every evening we eat in the restaurant and let us surprise what Danillo cooked for us. It was so tasty and you can see that he cooks with love. And breathtaking vieuws of Florence. This is real Tuscany life.

This restaurant serves really terrific food. We had the Florentine steak which I think they call the Chianti steak or something but it's represented in the pics people have provided, The homemade pasta was absolutely the best I ever had and unfortunately the best I ever expect to eat. Also try the Vigneto Montecasi Special Reserve wine. The view of... More

We stayed for 16 days in one of apartments owned by the Becattini family. While staying there we had five excellent meals at the restaurant. The tuscan antipasti, the grilled steaks, the homemade pastas, the fried vegetables and so on were all a great pleasure and really mouthwatering. The house Wine and the homemade Vino Santo were magnificent as well!... More

The restaurant serves excellent food in a wonderful friendly atmosphere at very reasonable prices. There is a traditional Tuscan menu with local family specialities of which they are justifiably proud.

The mixed grille that everyone speaks and writes about is fantastic...no doubt about it. But the overall experience for us at least was a bit disappointing. It is in Poggio alla Croce which is a very pretty drive from Firenze and takes no more than 50 minutes at most on this Saturday in May, but there it ends. The restaurant... More

During our stay in Chianti (in the wonderful apartment of family Becattini) we could visit this restaurant several times. The food and service is excellent, the atmosphere fabulous and the hosts very friendly. Especially recommended are the mixed antipasti toscano, the homemade pasta, the mixtures grill platters and of course the Chianti wine. A unique experience is the stunning view... More
