A Delicious Adventure

My husband and I love Ethiopian food, and we just moved to Louisville. We hadn't tried this place before, but we immediately fell in love with it. They have a "Meat and Veggie Combo platter," which is the best of everything, and it was huge, and it came quickly. The flavors were different, but just... read more

This is always a treat. We ordered the "Beyaynetu" sampler appetizer platter. It contains Kosta wrap, Fossaolia wrap, tomato fit-fit and chicken sambussa. All were delicious I removed one star only for the sketchy service we received that night. One person brought us water and stated that she would be our server. When we were not ready to give her... Let me begin by saying we are not adventurous eaters...this was our first time dining here and we were all newbies to Ethiopian food. Our waiter was very knowledgeable and was able to help us make menu decisions. We opted for chicken and beef tips. Our friends ordered the Doro wot. Our meals came on enormous trays, each with our... Dear other Louisville restaurants, There's no good way to say this. But I'm leaving you for Queen of Sheba. It's not that you did anything wrong. Well, I am tired of seeing pork belly/lardons on menus. And come on, some of you could offer more palatable vegetarian options than a roasted squash plate. For the most part, however, Queen of... I have never been to an Ethiopian restaurant before and was pleasantly surprised. We started with the Kitfo Wrap as an appetizer and it was very good. Then we decided to split the meat and vegetable combination dinner for two. This gave us the chance to try a little bit of everything. The bread you use to eat with has... More

We are so lucky to live in Louisville and have so many wonderful restaurants. The Queen of Sheba, in our neighborhood, is a great example. The food is excellent, great choices for vegetarians and meat eaters alike. The food value is outstanding and everything is prepared by the owners. Service can be quirky but it's not really a problem. We... More

Our first venture into the Ethiopian food and we were clean bowled by this restaurant. Very friendly service and beautiful atmosphere. We could not understand a single word from the menu and asked for the most authentic and popular dish. The staff suggested the Ethiopian Coffee and meat and veg combination for two. First came the coffee in an authentic... More

We have been here several times and the food is consistently good. Friendly service & relaxed atmosphere. We usually get the veggie & meat combo. It comes on a round trey to share or you can get it individual portion.Eating everything with what looks like rolled up pancakes (flat bread). They do offer forks if you want. It's a delicious... We had a group of retired teachers eat here the other day. Expensive food with good service without silverware of course. The Talapia was tender and fresh. Some of the teachers had some more spicier dishes, however, it was a hit with of members of the party. The ambiance was lacking a bit but the food made up for it.... More

We always enjoy trying new Ethiopian restaurants, comparing them to the 'real deal' we experienced during our times in Ethiopia. At the Queen of Sheba there is an extensive menu so we were quite eager to try. We had the appetizer sampler, which is a very good value. The sambussa and kosta were excellent. For our meal we had lega... More
