Top 10 in Louisville

As I write this, Tripadvisor ranks Jack Fry's is No. 8 of 1,554 restaurants in Louisville. Yeah, that's probably about right. Maybe not the absolutely best, most mind-blowing meal you'll ever have in the city, but it's a place to return again and again for food and atmosphere. I had been a... read more

The quality, the presentation, the customer service...the food!!! The only downside is we stayed for coffee and their coffee was very weak and the dessert was only OK, too sweet for our tastes. Our meal was by far the best we had while in Louisville. I would absolutely recommend you try Jack Fry's.

This was the last meal of our vacation and I had high expectations for this highly talked about restaurant. Right away we ordered two cocktails, being from Wisconsin, it is only natural that we ordered the Old Fashioned and the Bluegrass Mule. They were very stiff (Which we have no complaints there) however, lacked any flavor; A simple muddle would... More

We come to Louisville every spring for the Humana Festival of New American Plays. We've been to Jack Fry's twice (both times on a Sunday evening, after seeing our last play) and have loved it. it can be a bit tricky to find for an out-of-towner without a navigation app and parking can be an issue as their lot is... Got there at 11 AM and were seated quickly. Server asked for drinks the place is very beautiful. Lunch menu is not extensive, I order the Fry Burger, with Steak Frys Blue Stilton, med well and it was excellent. Two in party ordered the sausage/mashed potatos and all three had salads. Service was attentive but not irritating. Tends to be... More

Parking was really difficult - they have a small parking lot located by the building but otherwise it is street parking. It took us a while to find something nearby. The restaurant is small and was crowded even on a Monday night. The staff were all nice. Drinks were okay but not great. That being said - everything else was... More

Just had lunch. The ambiance is jazzy. I really really enjoyed myself. The service was spot on. I'm told they often have a jazz band in the evenings. I definitely want to go back some time just for that because the food was awesome. And considering Jack Frys is a 5 star restaurant I thought the prices were reasonable too.... More

A few weeks ago, my wife and I decided to try Jack Fry's for lunch. It had been awhile since we had dined there. We had received some gift certificates some years back but we were never able to use them probably due to our inability to reserve a few days in advance. The restaurant was crowded as usual and... I'm visiting Louisville from England and was recommended to go here. Because of the snow not many places were open. We made a reservation and the place was packed when we arrived! I had the pork chop which was gorgeous and a large portion. We shared the brownie with bacon for dessert. I'd never had bacon on a sweet before... More

first time visit at this charming restaurant reminiscent of an era gone by. Been a landmark in the downtown area for many years. Walls adorned with black and white photos from an era past. Our waitress, Theresa, was knowledgeable, attentive, knew the history to share with us and timed her visits to the table perfectly. The crab cakes were excellent, as... More
