The restaurant is now shut down. Too bad. We have thoroughly enjoyed it, but from what I understand, they just decided it was time. I guess that leaves us with just one German restaurant in Louisville now. Another family run restaurant gone.

Erika is wonderful and the food is always fantastic. If you like authentic German, then you must visit this local gem. It is a great place for a family dinner or group of friends because it is never too loud and you can have a conversation over dinner. It is one of our favorite restaurants in Louisville.

We had a great meal here at Erika's. Authentic German food with great taste. Everything was good. Bratwursts were fantastic as was the chicken cordon blue. Schnitzel was very tasty. Will come here again

I am German, as is my wife, and we drive 45 minutes one way just to eat at Erika's. While the surroundings are "average", she does rate a 100% on the Health inspection. Food is authentic. Service is super friendly. Prices are reasonable and portions are hearty. German beer is available too. Give it a try!

Ordered the sauerbraten, to-go, with spatzle and sauerkraut. Arrived there, and the food was kept HOT, until in the to-go plastic containers - it only took a minute. The sauerbraten is virtually-DRIPPING with their unique gravy, so be-prepared if you use the to-go option. The LARGE slabs of tenderized beef were like proportional, T-Bone steaks ... but w/o the gristle... More

My friend and I got there late one evening and though they had a problem with the a/c in the kitchen, they stayed open for us. Our means were delicious and authentic. As we were the only ones in the restaurant, it seemed more like we were eating a home cooked meal at a friend's house. The meals were home... More

If you are looking for a small restaurant with authentic German food...you must go here. It was close to our hotel and the lady at the desk said she had been there and said it was great. She was right!

Erika's German Restaurant was a wonderful experience. The restaurant is small and has a very cozy and personal atmosphere. Our service was very friendly, inviting, and attentive. The Potato Pancakes and Applesauce was delicious. The Sauerbraten was a very generous serving and deliciously tender and flavorful. I will be returning again when I am in the area.

Erika's is pretty good, but it doesn't measure up to the standard of the other local German restaurant -- that starts with a "G" and ends with "haus" -- either in quality and presentation of food, nor decor, nor service.
