I struggled as to whether to choose the Italian joint right across from this place or what. I finally decided to try the seafood. This place is worth the trip!! I'm a tough critic and a great lover of seafood but this was good. I had the snow crab , pan fried oysters on the half shell and fresh squeezed... More

I was initially hesitant because I'm not a big fan of chain restaurants, but I was with a group and this was the recommendation. I'm so glad we went! The group ordered lobster tails, blackened tilapia, grilled halibut, salmon, tuna, and cod and all of the dishes were delicious. The portion size on the halibut was small, especially in comparison... During Happy Hour you can get $5 drinks and appetizers. The food is great but a little smaller than the regular priced ones. Still fun and very reasonable

My previous visits to this Mitchell's Fish Market had been great so I anticipated the same. I'm sorry to say that the food wasn't quite up to what I'm used to experiencing. My lobster stuffed cod seemed like it had been under a warmer for some time. It lacked any outstanding flavor or seasoning. My date's blackened trout was a... More

If you read my reviews my often, you know I am exceptional home cook always looking for that restaurant meal I can't fix at home. I found it at Mitchell's. You might also know that my favorite places to eat in Louisville are Havana Rumba, Guacamole, and the Brix Wine Bar. You have to have good food to get me... More

I was surprised to find the seafood as good or better than I find on the East Coast. The oyster were so fresh and briny, the salmon on the cedar plank was cooked to perfection, and what really impressed me was that my wife's family who is set in their way when it comes to food (steak/potato/fried) loved the Sam... On a recent business trip through Kentucky, my boss and I spent the night in Louisville, and I recommended that we have dinner at Mitchell's. I had eaten here a couple of times before and love the place, and I knew he would like it too because he and I share an addiction. Shellfish! Especially lobster and crab legs! So... More

Their fish and chips is my favorite, it was yummy. The oysters was great too. It was really fresh. I love this restaurant. The only thing that I don't like is that they don't have a sweet tea. But it's alright coz their food is really good. We will be back.

The prices are high and the food is nothing to brag about. I would skip this place and go to Martini which is right next door.

The worst halibut I ever ate. The waiter sold us on it after our trip to Portland. Only one cup of coffee and it was cold. No bread was offered but other people had bread. Creme brûlée for dessert. What a joke!!! The brûlée only filled up one half of the tiny, tiny dish. Mitchell's is not what it used... More
