Great food including choices for vegetarians and gluten free eaters. Nice and quiet so we could talk during dinner. That is very rare. I went there twice during a 5 day stay so that says a lot. The owners and staff could not be more accommodating as we kept changing the number of our party. I love Persian food and... More

This is a Persian restaurant with a chef who must be quixotic. No way were our portions the large ones that I read about here. One tiny skinny quail for $9, though it was delicious. A rack of lamb with 7 tiny chops and some salad (or rice if you prefer) for $38. An extra side of rice for one... More

I joined a group of colleagues here while we were visiting for AMDA annual convention at Louisville Convention Center. An easy 3 block walk for some of the best tabuleh, grape leaves, lamb and dill rice. I have been to a few "mediterranean" restaurants, some Persian-owned, and I love lamb (despite my inclination to be vegetarian...). This was BY FAR... More

This was a last minute destination before catching a show at the Yum Center on a Saturday @7p. The restaurant was full but there was a seat available. The service was WONDERFUL. The food was SO VERY DELICIOUS! We ordered rack of lamb and the salmon dish offered on the menu. They were served very fast. My husband said his... More

My husband and I went here for dinner with another couple. The complimentary pita bread with greens and feta was very refreshing. The stuffed grape leaves were delicious. I ordered the chicken kabob, and my husband ordered the chicken and mushroom dish. The portions are big, so you'll definitely need a box. I'd like to go back and try their... More

Went for dinner on a Tuesday night. I was courteously greeted and promptly seated. A complimentary appetizer composed of 4 quarters of deliciously warm pita bread along with a plateful off different fresh herbs and a block of white savory cheese. The Persian Tea was exquisite in flavor and being a tea lover, I'd go back to Saffron's just to... More

Try the gormazabzi or the geimeh (split pea stew). Both were fantastic. Ambience is nice and service was stellar!

Since I have moved to Louisville, I have had a craving to try new and exotic cuisines. When I saw this restaurant online and read the menu, I was very excited. However, when I got there, my expectations slowly started lowering. It wasn't the service as much as the food that disappointed me. I had an excellent waiter who had... More
