We were killing time before our flight back home to Texas from National FFA convention last year and were searching for a good place to eat. Searched online and found Check's. All the food was amazing and the kids loved it! Cannot wait to visit again!

I recently brought some friends to Check's for a Friday Night Out to watch some football, drink beer, eat dinner and just hang out. They had a great time in one of Louisville's oldest eating establishments. Their Fried Bologna Sandwich is just delicious and cheap $3.50. At out table we also had the Pork Tenderloin Sandwich which was HUGE, The... More

I always get bean soup and the wife gets the fish sandwich (fish is enough for 2 people). Always good food, since they have remodeled it looks a lot better. You can usually find a local Louisville celebrity in there around lunch time. I recommend trying it. Real friendly staff

I love the old neighborhoods in Louisville, and this is one of the best old neighborhood bar/restaurants. Classic Louisville bar food done very well. The atmosphere is fun and service pretty quick. They have a really good fish sandwich. Onion rings are just the frozen variety, but most other sides homemade. Love their bean soup and chili- both always on... More

Check's café is a small restaurant / bar in Louisville's Germantown area. Just off of Eastern parkway, Check's is a classic. I have eaten lunch and dinner here for years and wanted to take the time to review the establishment. Its old fashioned interior and line up in single file line order scenario are great traditions. Reasonably priced lunches that... More

I have been going to Checks for many, many years and always in addition to enjoying the food, service and atmosphere at Checks, I absolutely love the neighborhood. The remodeling that has taken place recently has increased the seating capacity and made Checks even more fun. It is a place where you can take the entire family and eat and... More

We've been coming here for over 20 years. Great little neighborhood tavern you can take the whole family. Food is always good at a fair price.

If I could give this 10 stars, I would. Clearly the highlight cultural center in this historic neighborhood, Josie and I were lucky to find this vintage corner bar in Germantown at lunchtime last Thursday. It has the ambiance of a neighborhood pub where the locals have been gathering for 3/4 of a century. ATMOSPHERE: 100 POINTS The gang gathered... More

This place is great. Hole in the wall, no frills. The restaurant is dark and dingy, but in a way, that's what gives it it's charm. We go to Checks every time we come to town. And the only two things I ever order are the chili and the cheeseburger. I never change my order because it's that good. I... More
