Came to Louisville for a conference. Passed this restaurant on my way to and from the conference hotel every day. Never really saw any customers on the inside but I wanted something light and I like sushi so my boyfriend and I went there for dinner. The decor was elegant and the seating... read more

This is my favorite sushi spot in Louisville. They have my favorite roll I've ever had, the Surf n Turf (fried lobster and asparagus inside with spicy crab and thinly sliced rare steak on too). Their hibachi is also very good and fun. They recently remodeled so I am curious to see how it turned out.

Firstly, we walked in to Sapporo which is located at Bardstown Rd however there was a waiting line for 45 minutes. So we decided to go the on on 4th st. Just right after we walked in to the restaurant, server Andrew Fry showed his warm service with genuine passion for his job. He gave us recommendations and served dishes... More

I've always had a strong dislike of sushi, it just never tasted good to me at all. My special lady friend wanted to go out for sushi and inspired me to be brave and try it again. Believe me when I say I was very reluctant. I tried the Oaks roll which had rare beef tataki and spicy crab and... More

Went to Sapporo for dinner on a Saturday night and it was amazing. The atmosphere was very modern, the had a beautiful sushi bar, and the sushi rolls just melt in your mouth. It was only rated $$ on line which I didn't quite agree with because it was a little on the pricey side but well worth every penny!!!... More

I planned a birthday get together here and found that although this restaurant has great food it is lacking in management. When I made reservations the earliest time they would let me book was 9pm, citing that they were full with other reservations. We decided to show up at 7:30 anyway and get our name on the list. When we... More

I am a frequent visitor to Louisville for both work and recreation. I have also sampled sushi all over the country. Sapporo downtown is a great spot for sushi and may be your only choice now if you're staying downtown. The decor is contemporary as is some of the chef's creations. The service is friendly and knowledgeable and ready to... More

excellent. Got happy hour prices and 3 excellent appetizers. Included a $4 28-ounce Sapporo beer. The muscles were addictive. The fried tofu crispy with a nice soft tofu. The Goyza were the loser but still good. Will definitely go again. Plus it's convenient very close to the Brown Hotel.

Started with four types of Sushi, and all were very good. Ordered the Hibachi Shrimp & Scallops, and it started with a soup or salad. I chose the Miso soup, and everyone else had the salad. Soup was okay, and I suggested that everyone else add a little soy sauce to their salad. They did and they loved it. Main... More
