We stayed at the Brown and had dinner here the first night. We had the Escargot app, the Hot Brown and lamb chops. The service was great and so was the food! Fresh roses in the tables and nice ambience. Not as expensive as we expected. My husband enjoyed the bourbon flight, as well.

Delicious food, terrific service and knowledgeable staff combined for an excellent dining experience. Despite previous stays at the Brown Hotel (itself an experience), we had never had dinner at the English Grille. It is certainly worth the trip.

What do all ladies want on a girls night out? Great food with a wonderful atmosphere but somewhere you can actually have a conversation. At the English Grill you get it all. The staff is very attentive and friendly. Our waiter was Jeremiah and was a gem. I think he had as much fun with us as we did with... More

Went there for Sunday brunch on Mother's Day. The hors d'oeuvre and dessert were buffet style. You chose your entree from a list of 3 or 4. Beverages are priced separately. All food on the buffet was fresh and continually replenished. The buffet had shrimp cocktail, fresh fruit, an array of cheeses, quiche, salads, smoked salmon and a variety of... More

Lovely dining experience! Food was great! Service was amazing! Learning about the history of the restaurant and the hotel an added plus. Definitely a must do when in Louisville. The only miss for the meal was the sorbet.

If you lost the draft lottery in the late 1960's and you were not a future President or Vice President, then you got drafted. From there it was off to basic training in places like Fort Knox, KY. Then a few weeks later you found yourself getting off a bus in downtown Louisville near the Brown Hotel with $97.00 in... More

Dear Guest, Always great to hear from a past guest from years ago. Good to hear that the hotel is as wonderful as you remembered. Our hotel history book has many stories of Fort Knox soldiers staying at the hotel before heading overseas. Please let me know when your travels bring you back our way and I'll block a nice... More

A group of eight of us enjoyed dinner here and we had no trouble hearing across the table. The setting is elegant and quiet. The meal was wonderful and the menu had a nice variety of options.

I don't normally treat myself to such a fine restaurant but this was worth it. The service was impeccable. I had the "Hot Brown" and it was delicious. A small appetizer was brought out which happened to be kangaroo done in a corned beef style. I mean, when will you ever get to try such different things. Reservations are recommended.
