A must when in Louisville

Fabulous dinner, everything perfect. Our waitress was very attentive without hovering. Great ambiance. We both ordered the pork chop special, which was cooked to perfection. Do not miss this wonderful restaurant while in Louisville.

I had the good fortune to enjoy dinner at Bucks with my Uncle in April, 2015. Patrick, our server, was fantastic. The food was Incredible. (My favorite bite was the steak and sweet potato hash). The piano / singer did a great job of providing great music and not distracting from the conversation / etc. His voice was rich and... More

Definitely and pleasantly old school, lots of flowers, candles, live piano music, etc. But our group of 8 were stationed in a banquette in the bar and it was a bit stuffy and a little cramped (they assured us the AC was on, and eventually turned on a rotating fan that helped a little). The drinks were good (top notch... More

Had the opportunity to dine with 9 gals at this great place and none of us were disappointed! Started with a round of appetizer varieties - crab cakes, shrimp, and risotto balls. All were delicious. Then salads and entrees. I thoroughly enjoyed the crispy fish and there was enough for next day meal! Tasted the chicken and steak and both... More

I flew in and out of Louisville on the same day. I was anxious to find the "best place for lunch". I was surprised to see that most all the fine dining restaurants are not open for lunch. My local host recommended Buck's and I'm glad he did. For me mood and surroundings are every bit as important as the... More

Love old buildings & ambience of a piano player all evening! Step back in time to enjoy your cocktail and music. It's an experience of casual serving and enjoying your time there. Menu has lots of choices. Wine and cocktail menu. I smiled all evening enjoying this atmosphere. Piano player added his personal touch, and addressed me and even came... More

Went for the big Derby prix fixe meal at $85 ++. Escorted through the noisy but warm and dated restaurant thru a side door into the linoleum lobby of the adjacent apartment building that had been temporarily set up with folding tables and chairs to pack as many diners as possible with 50 people and absolutely freezing AC. Many of... More

Our 6 Kansas City Derby guests greatly enjoyed their Oaks Day pre-Derby dinner at Bucks. After spending the day at Churchill Downs for Oaks and girding up for the Derby, we all loved the music, attentive service, great food and ambiance at Bucks. In contrast to other Louisville restaurants, Bucks offered a wonderful meal, attentive service without the ripoff prices... More

We were here for the Kentucky Derby weekend. Were seated outdoors on the patio - I do not have a single good thing to say about our meal. The food was overpriced and tasteless, the service was mediocre at best, and it took forever to get anything done. Our waiter refused to take our order down on a notepad and... More

The Food!! Excellent!! They have a hamburger soup that is delightful! I highly recommend this restaurant. Thank you Lisa for making this special lunch for my group happen. My group was formed of 40 adults and the staff made sure all of our needs were fulfilled. The lunch was great and the staff was kind, helpful and knew what they... More
