A disappointing visit.

Food is good, but over priced for what you get. The food was better in the Mayan's previous incarnation. Seating is tight, but service is good. Drinks are also too pricey. Ucan has a lot of talent, but I liked his restaurant when it was more accessible to the common man!

Mayan Cafe isn't your usual south of the border restaurant. Located in the NULU area of town your experience starts in the up and coming hip location. The location, design and ambiance is great but the food is what you came for. No disappointments here. The food offers some of the best flavors, aromas and of course taste this food... More

I had salmon with vegetables which included cactus. The food was delicious. I plan to go back there next time I am in town.

If you're looking for something a little different from the norm, this is the place to go. The Lima beans are delicious (I'm usually not a big fan of Lima beans) and you also have to try the hibiscus tea!

Stopped in for lunch on our way through Louisville. What a wonderful culinary experience! We called ahead and put our name in for a table. When we arrived there were plenty of tables available but they filled up rather quickly. We started with the scallop ceviche which was amazing. I'm still craving it!! The Mayan salad was nice and refreshing... More

Just happened by here at lunch time and fortunately they had a table. I ordered the Mayan Burger- it was moist and very flavorful. (I was going to get the taco of the day, but am not a fan of lamb.) People around were commenting on how good their food was. They have various beers, wine and mixed drinks as... More

We were not disappointed with our dinner selection. It was fun to be in NuLu area and see all the changes. Mayan Cafe was delicious. The choice were varied and well presented. The summer specials with broccoli were delightful. We will make sure to visit again on a regular basis.

We had a wonderful lunch at the Mayan Cafe. It made us wish we had stayed longer in Louisville to try it again. We had a table close to the bay windows and really enjoyed looking at the beautiful photographies on the walls. We shared a very good scallop ceviche as an appetizer. I had terrific tacos and I wish... More

We picked Mayan because of the great reviews on Trip Advisor - and it was great! Food was inventive, fresh and delicious. The atmosphere was intimate, nice - a good feel. Nulu East Market Neighborhood seemed a redeveloping area near downtown - so the buildings had an "old" architecture vibe and that type of character - a fun neighborhood to... More

We enjoyed a birthday meal at Mayan cafe. The food and service was excellent where the server really helped choose drinks that would pair well with the food. The dessert was particularly delicious. Highly recommend this restaurant if you are in town.
