Make reservations! Great food. Very small spot but pretty live once crowded. Staff was very friendly. Had the catch of the day which was Mahi Mahi with eggplant. The lima beans are a hit here and I see why

Conveniently located to downtown. Amazing Mayan cuisine! Seemingly every entree was amazing. I settled on the veggie-burrito (and added pork), topped with egg and the lima beans as a side. SO GOOD! Washed down with a tasty pilsner from Wise Acre. Less than $30 to boot! Tip:small venue, best to make a reservation.

We had not visited this restaurant in several years, mainly due to schedule conflicts On a whim, driving back thru Louisville late on a Saturday afternoon, I called, and caught an open table for 2 at 8pm. Our good luck. This is definitely not a traditional Mexican restaurant! The menu is unusual, not weird or off the wall, but a... More

My family has eaten at the Mayan Cafe twice and it has been very good both times. I highly recommend it.

This is a favorite spot for me and many friends in Louisville. The space is cozy, staff is super gracious, food is from the freshest sources and there is not a disappointing offering on the menu. I often take out of towners there and they all rave about the offerings and the desserts really seal the deal on opinion. Don't... More

Great place for lunch. Order the taco special. You get two great tacos. The day we were there, they had Lamb tacos that were fabulous. In addition, be sure to try the Lima beans, and the great appetizers. Different and delicious.

The Mayans were one of the native people from the land we know as Mexico today. The foods are unique and unlike any other Mexican style we had eaten before. We really enjoyed the food and service. Try the deserts also, very good finish! I highly recommend the experience for anyone visiting Louisville. The neighborhood is an older style which... More

"An indigenously inspired farm-to-table restaraunt". The salmon was incredible and definitely don't miss the Lima beans! The Salbutes were also yummy. We had a variety: cactus, rabbit and roasted pork. The roasted pork were my favorite. Definitely don't miss. I only rated it a 4 because the service was "odd"....made me think of European style service, a bit standoffish.

A Mayan themed cafe in Louisville. Who knew? I know it sounds like it shouldn't work but it does! The chef is Mayan so you will find things on the menu that you won't see anywhere else the Midwest. Service was great. Atmosphere Bohemian. Prices good. Best experience in L'ville.
