Went here on a recommendation from the travel books. Glad we did. There are tables outside & in. We choose outside. Nice warm spring evening. Started with the pork salbutes. Yummy,,, fried dough with slow roasted pork, greens with a jalapeño dipping sauce. I could of eaten this for my entree. We also got guacamole & chips. We just about... More

While visiting Louisville, a local woman recommended the Mayan Cafe to my wife and it did not disappoint. The food was a bit pricy, but was extremely fresh, locally sourced, and full of flavor.(worth every penny) The quality of the food rivaled many NY establishments that we have tried, and far surpassed the many chain restaurants a mile away in... At a conference and attending the Humana Festival at Actors Theatre of Louisville, the hotel concierge recommended the Mayan Cafe...a surprisingly fine choice. Farm to table menu with authentic dishes and a limited but reasonable wine list. A range of items per course to suit most tastes (meat, fish, vegetarian, gluten free, etc.) allowed for some interesting choices. Started with... More

I had dinner after being recommended the Mayan cafe, and I have to say, we were not disappointed. We ordered their specialty drinks, and had a few different things off the menu, and we thought it was all really good. I especially recommend the scallop ceviche- absolutely wonderful. I just couldn't bring myself to give it the full 5 stars... More

MY wife and I dined here Monday night after an event, and we found it to be a perfect end to a good evening. The sevice was good and attentive, however it suffered a little when a party of another party or 12 arrived to demand the attention of our good server. The portions are average in quantity, and the... More

Had a delightful special menu to accompany the various wines from this boutique Argentinian winery. Started with a Luminis Extra Brut to begin the wonderful dinner that was a sell out. Next came a wonderfully light red Allamand Cabernet Savignon with accompany a trio of absolutely delicious "Botanas" or snacks that should ALWAYS be on the menu. They trio was... More

Reservations are a must for this small, sophisticated, excellent dining experience. The food is worth every dollar. Trying the Lima Beans is a must. Dishes can be prepared to accommodate the vegans in your party.

I was very impressed with the food. Not only was it delicious, it was so beautifully presented. I had the Monday night burrito and sangria special. Steak and egg burrito and sangria with winter fruit. It was amazing! For dessert my husband and I shared a Tres Leches with fig puree and caramel ice cream. We got the bourbon that... More
