Excellent might be reserved for The Breakers or for an absolutely beyond compare dining experiece. The Oakroom is very good but not excellent. The food is well prepared. Decor is lovely. A great experience at a premium pricepoint.

My husband and I tried the five course tasting menu (with wine pairing) for dinner here. It was very good. The best part of the meal was the venison main course. I've eaten a lot of venison in my life and this was among the tenderest and juiciest I've ever eaten. The dessert was also great and the various wines... More

It's always tough when you read reviews to know the background of the people commenting. I cannot see ever calling this restaurant "excellent," but if you haven't eaten at truly "excellent" restaurants (Daniel's, French Laundry, Jean Georges, etc), I can see how you might think this restaurant deserves that rating. I was greeted by name when I arrived, and seated... More

The brunch buffet was one of the most spectacular I've ever seen. So many options and not enough stomach! Decadent pastries, shrimp, roast, breakfast staples, and so much more. You won't be disappointed.

Everything about this meal was great. Exceptional service. Attention to detail. Formal yet relaxed. Food was beautifully presented and just as delicious. Well worth the price. I have paid more for meals that were not even close to this one.

We dined at the Oakroom the night before the Kentucky Derby - so were limited to the Prix Fixe menu. Each course was beautifully presented and the meal was delicious. Service was a bit pretentious but to be expected in a restaurant in this range. Expensive to be sure - but overall the experience was worth it.

If you ever have an opportunity to eat at The Oakroom, you have to go. Chef Patrick creates a menu fit for royalty. He is extremely accommodating to every individual's food preferences and was able to make every dish Gluten Free for me. His flavor combinations were perfect. Not overwhelming like a lot of fine dining restaurants I've been to... More

An incredible experience , Chef Patrick and staff turn eating into the definition of fine dining. Each dish takes you to a new level pleasing the palette and bathing the taste buds with stimulating sensations. A great selection of wine and spirits complement each bite, one of the finest meals I have ever had. A true cacophony of flavor .... More

My husband took me to the Oakroom for my 49th birthday. The atmosphere was very elegant and warm with a historical feel. The service was perfect. The food was beautifully presented and the delivery of all the courses was perfect. I couldnt decide on a particular drink so I asked that the bartender make me something with spiced rum and... More

Just went to Father's Day Brunch. I honestly don't have much to say about it other than it was pretty average. The Hotel and the Oakroom dining area are both very nice and classy in appearance. The service was fine but nothing special. The staff were cordial but somewhat disinterested. Some of the food was good, some just ok, but... More
