Reservation at 9pm on Open Table and only 4 tables used, so quiet you could hear a pin drop, or another table burping 200 feet way. Food was spot on great and the bartender made the best martini for wife and manhatten for me. Great wine selections and each course was fantastic. Had fish and wife had steak. Kinda reminded... We had dinner with another couple during Derby week at the Oakroom. Beautiful, old world setting with lots of dark wood and beautiful detail. Our waiter, Jamal, was just the best from giving us some history of the building and room to derby horse tips to menu item descriptions to service; all of it was outstanding. The menu was a... More

Got into Louisville late but had no problem getting a table. Attire is business casual or nicer. Chef is outstanding. It is a large room with dark wood paneling. Service is spot-on perfect. Food was just as good as that we have had at elite Vegas restaurants. Chef put a delicious meal out with interesting options. Wine options were plentiful.

Run for the roses. Not the roses at the track, the roses adorning each table in the Oakroom. Having been a regular at the Seelbach Hotel for the past 12 years, I have had many opportunities to dine in the Oakroom, but always left a bit saddened, because, for such a lovely venue staffed by an exceptionally professional and attentive... My husband and I dined here for dinner. The restaurant has a wonderful atmosphere and the wait staff are attentive. This is fine dining! I had the 3 little pigs (3 types of pork) with Brussel Sprouts and pomegranate. Go here for a special occasion. It was pricey ($120 for 2) but enjoyable. Very elegant.

Loved the food. Staff are always so great in the Oak Room. I cannot say enough about how delicious all the food is at Sunday Brunch. I am never ever disappointed. Troy does a great job and I always look forward to having him serve when I bring guests. My guests always love the brunch.

The food hit the mark on all levels. The service was disorganized, coordinating/chatting in front of diners, serving items not ordered, unable to describe the entrees, serving meals one at a time, requiring multiple requests for drinks. Not up to its five star rating on service. Quality of the food was outstanding- making up for the poor service.

The Oakroom in the beautiful Seelbach Hilton is a step back to a time when dining included real cloth napkins, real tablecloths, attentive waiters, beautifully presented food, and nicely dressed patrons. A visit to Louisville for us always includes a visit to The Oakroom because it is a dining experience that is seldom available. Their Sunday Brunch is especially lovely.

My wife and I ate here for the Sunday buffet, $34 each, which is a bit pricey but mostly worth it. Because we had a 2-for-1 city saver coupon it was a good value. The place is upscale and old-world with wood paneled walls, white table cloths & napkins. The service was extremely attentive throughout including promptly bringing us the... More
