We tried it recently after reading much good press and good words from friends. Its all they said. The food is delicious. Service is good. We tried various things to get a good feel of their food. All was good. We look forward to going back. My wife now judges all others' ribs by theirs.

This place is everything you've read on here about and MORE. The food is absolutely amazing and prepared just right. It is the way it should be done! Despite being a small place (and usually busy), the service was impressively good and personal. There is also a great, large beer selection. Whether you live in Louisville or are just visiting,... We read the reviews and HAD to try this place. We wanted something different, highly rated on TA, but not pretentious nor "fancy." Hammerheads hit the spot! It sits in the middle of a residential neighborhood in essentially the walk-out basement of a house. You descend a few steps down to the entrance -- past a smiley-faced drain cover --... More

Burgers were excellent. But the pretzel roll( for an extra $1.00) made the better burger. The French fries (grippos) were quite tasty. Not a place for dieters.

Just like all the reviews said, not much of a building but GREAT sandwiches and service. The food was all served exceptionally hot on planks. They do not serve mixed drinks. We cured that problem by going up the street to Come Back In, which is an Italian restaurant that serves nice drinks. So while we waited for our table... More

The food was interesting, to say the least. If you are a picky eater or have kids I wouldn't recommend it. The portions were somewhat small compared to other places for the price. The brownie dessert tasted like it was right out of a box, which was very disappointing to me (I have a HUGE sweet tooth)! I will say... More

Hammerheads was recommended as a must-visit restaurant during our stay in Louisville for the Derby Marathon. We were told the chicken and waffles were THE BEST, so that's why we chose to go there for a post-race meal. We took a cab over from the hotel and waited awhile to be seated, which we knew we would have to given... More

My husband and I sought out this place. After a failed visit during the NCAA tournament - Hammerheads closed for the game - we finally made it back during Thunder weekend. First, you MUST arrive early if you do not want to wait. It opens at 5 pm and by 5:30 (when we arrived) there was a 30 minute wait... More

You have to know where it is to find it - total neighborhood dive with AMAZING food! We gobbled up the fried mac & cheese balls, and the Grippo Fries rocked! Duck Tacos were great, and the Sweet Chili Shrimp had a kick that worked well for us. Two more words to end the mean - BACON BROWNIE! You might... More

Get there early it was packed on Friday night by 5:30. Low ceilings so tall guys watch your head, maybe that's why it's called Hammerheads I thought it was the shark over the door.... But I digress the food, bison, lamb, pork, duck, chicken and veggie options. Beer on draught, food served on wooden planks, delicious. There are smokers out... More
