Totally awesome pizza!!

So I admit, I am a bit of a pizza snob. Born and raised in NY, I have high standards for pizza. Louisville has some great pizza places but I can say with 100% certainty that Coals is the best in town! We love the atmosphere, the service, and the food. Our kids often request Coals on the weekends... read more

Visited Coals on a warm Sunday evening, small classy place in a nice part of Louisville. We chose Coals based on TripAdvisor reviews. We were very happy with our choice! Our server Hunter was attentive and so nice. We split a wedge salad and risotto balls, both were yummy! Our pizza also did not disappoint, thin crunchy crust with fresh... More

Just love Coal's and my visit this most recent Monday evening was no disappointment. Started with the Arancini (Risotto balls stuffed w/ mozzarella and bacon, topped with basil and Parmesan cheese and served w/ a side of marinara)...crunchy, cheesy goodness. Clam chowder was their soup of the day and it was chock full of clam, delicious flavor. Now...that Waverly pizza...my... More

We have only gotten carry out but in my opinion, it's the best pizza in Louisville. Not sure what they do to that crust but it's addicting!

My wife and I met another couple here for dinner and we are very glad we did. We were promptly greeted and told that there was about a 20 minute wait to be seated but after a 10 minute wait at the bar we were seated. We shared a pizza called the "Seneca" which included artichokes, mushrooms, tomatoes and cheese... More

We have been to Coal's several times and never had a problem. Tonight we went to celebrate my son's 16th birthday. This was where he wanted to go. I can't rate the pizza tonight because we never got waited on! We waited a more than reasonable amount of time before leaving and going somewhere else. Very disappointed!

My wife and I were visiting Louisville from out of town and staying nearby and discovered this gem. We were seat right away on Thursday night at 7:00. The service was wonderful and friendly although our server had forgotten to bring us our check and didn't check back for a while. The pizza was a thin crust cooked to perfection.

This was my second visit to Coal's and what brought me in this time was pure convenience. Although I really enjoyed my visit last time, I stayed safe and just had a simple pizza. This time I had the Crescent Hill which is their version of a Hawaiian pizza. I opted for the Trfiecta BBQ and Jalapenos as the menu... More
