Very good

This place has it all. Good ice cream, cakes and pies. Some locations are like the old fashion Ice cream parlors of the past.

I had a lunch special, which consisted of a sandwich, chips, and a dessert. The Reuben was good as was the caramel apple pie.

The Homemade Ice Cream and Pie Kitchn has been a Louisville institution for several years and they have fabulous pies and desserts. They have recently added several locations and that has led to poor quality control. Often the desserts you order look nothing like the ones on the website. Apparently it depends on having a skilled pastry chef available to... More

Staff at another restaurant recommended this shop. They said they had the best pie and ice cream in Louisville. We made a stop to see and they were right. Large fresh slices of pie which were excellent. The ice cream was very good too. We would return many times if we lived in Louisville.

Stopped here after Mega Caverns today. Only 3 miles or so away. Excellent selection of ice cream and pies, we tried chess pie, vanilla ice cream, creme brulee ice cream (awesome by the way), blue raspberry sherbet... all were great and friendly staff. Cozy place with a selection on different seating (couches, tables, booths). Parking is in the back so... More

Got to love local restaurants that feel like chain restaurants... Really though, the food is similar to really good deli food and the sweets are where it's at... So many delicious pies and cakes and ice cream, etc and the portions are huge... Always warm and inviting...

My husband is an ice cream aficionado! A big smile spread across his face when he read that it contained 40% butterfat. It would rate in his top 3 ever- a REAL ice cream instead of a milk and filler emulsion. I had a slice of their top-selling pie-the Carmel Dutch Apple. Mmm! Unfortunately, we were just driving through on... More

Stopped in to have some pie before leaving Louisville. It’s a nice place with plenty of table seating and a cozy couch area. After much thought we decided on the caramel apple pie and the banana pudding. The caramel apple pie was very good, but the banana pudding won hands down. Even though it was a big portion, I wanted... More

The Homemade Ice Cream & Pie Kitchen has a great assortment of delicious homemade pies and ice cream options. My wife and brother and sister-in-law went there after dinner and ordered a slice of the Dutch Apple with Caramel and the Double Crust Apple pie, along with some Butter Pecan ice cream. All of them were delicious, and I suspect... More

Stopped for a break while driving through Louisville, KY. Both the ice cream and pie were outstanding, as good or better than homemade. Will stop there in the future.
