Only had the glazed available. The unique fried style is awesome and the whole family loved it! Worth the stop.

We drove by this bakery on a Sunday morning and made an unplanned stop, but we were glad we spotted it. The bakery doesn't take credit cards, so make sure you bring cash. It isn't eat-in, and they don't serve coffee, which I thought was odd. We purchased a cream horn, jelly donut, cinnamon roll, apple fritter and molasses cookies... More

The doughnuts were so good I ate 5 with no problem. The outside of the glazed doughnuts were crispy with great texture and flavor. Inside they were flaky just like granny used to make when she fried them in lard. For some reason lard seems to keep the outside crisp while not letting any of the oils in. Maybe I... More

Joined the line on Sunday morning, and it was worth it. Warm, rich donuts from a local institution. Just a short ride from downtown.

I have never understood what people like about Spalding, so I had to try them myself and I still do not understand the loyalty to them. I will take Donut Days EVERYDAY. The grease comes through the bags before you can get them home. They are the most greasiest donuts that I have seen.

YUMMY! Do not miss this old fashioned donut shop and don't count the calories either. It is a short drive from downtown and worth it.

I used to have these do-nuts when I lived in Lexington so of course we had to get some when we were in town visiting. Still as tasty as can be. Got there about 6:15 and was 2nd in line for the 6:30am opening. They still accept cash only so be prepared for that. Recommend that everyone should try this... More
