I went to Jimmy D's East Coast Cafe because of the positve reviews read here. I had a meatball sub and it was very good. We ordered at the counter and they delivered to the table which was fine for lunch. The atmosphere was fine, the decor was cute, nothing stand out but cheerful. If you are looking for white table clothes and/or fancy sauces (usually used as an attempt to cover up poor quality meats and/or veggies), you wont find that here. At Jimmy D's you will find real food, real people, and an atomosphere that makes you feel like family. Jimmy let's the food speak for itself.....no need to cover up Jimmy's... more

One of the worst sausage grinders I've ever had. The bun wasn't fresh. The Italian sausage was charred. There was no cheese. Subway is much better and Subway is, well, Subway. The others at my table had different sandwiches and were just as unimpressed. Never again. more

Jimmy is the greatest chef in Kentucky. He has brought a flavor from all up the east coast to Lexington. No one loves food like this guy. Do your self a favor and go try a meatball. more

Having lived on the East Coast for years, there are certain tastes and smells that are representative of food. Jimmy D's provides my taste buds with everything that I miss. Make it a point to include this restaurant in your day's activities!! Great sandwiches!!! more

I literally live about 2 minutes from this resturant and eat lunch here whenever possible. Jimmy is a down to earth guy who is involved in the resturant and not some manager who just sits in a office all day, he is involved by cooking and even running the cash register. The food is excellent and I would recommend you... more

From start to finish, I loved every bite of this sandwich. I'm very particular of my sandwichs. The Grinders are great and the atmosphere is unbeatable. The food impressed me enough that i eat there at least three times a week! -Great job Jimmy -Mike more

I went... I bought... I had the best Ruben of my life. It was in fact so good I bought a shirt so I wouldnt forget where I got it. Impossible! I eat here for breakfast a few times a week now and lunch when I can. Jimmy your fun atmosphere and GREAT food are more than welcome here in... more

Great Sandwiches including meatball sub. Also has daily specials (hot meals). Locally owned and not a chain. Great place for quick lunch. more
