Description: Gumbo Ya Ya Fast Casual Cajun Creole is locally owned & operated by Greg and Tressa Todd. Greg started his career in the Cajun restaurant business in 1989 as an assistant manager for New Orleans native Joe Vuskovich (Original founder of Jozo's Bayou Gumbo). Greg worked under Joe V's wing for many years as a prep cook, store manager & co-partner of the original Yats Cajun Creole. After several years in the business, Greg decided to open his own Cajun joint with a “keep it simple” motto & no frills. Thus the chalkboard menu and tax included pricing. The S. Broadway location opened it's doors in January of 2004 and continues to serve up Lexington's finest Cajun cuisine around. Greg takes great pride in knowing every plate of food served in his store is prepared by him using fresh local produce (no preservatives) & that he is dishing up damn good Cajun Creole for a can’t beat it price! So, whether your in the mood for the famous Yatwich, or you need to satisfy your irrepressible urge for Maque Choux, or you just want ya some Red Beans & Rice on Wash day, Ya Ya's has got you covered!

Always love the variety on their menu and the quality has always been great. Great food and great value. Very quick service so if you are in a rush or just need to get something to go quickly, this always hits the spot. There is another similar place in town, but this one is still my favorite of the 2.

Exceptional food. Fast service. You can sample food before purchasing. They have Ale8 on tap. I have been a customer for a few years, I haven't had a bad experience and have always liked the dish I purchased. A favorite for my whole family.

I had the Jambalaya and it was possibly the worst thing I've ever put in my mouth. It was disgusting. I wouldn't eat there again if someone paid me.

I just got back from this place as a first time dinner. The food was awesome and the service very personable. I had Shrimp Etouffee, Jambalaya ya ya, and Maque Chaux over pasta. It was all so good, we got some to go, for diner. Highly recommend to everyone. Very affordable as well.

Quality good with counter service and little atmosphere, reminds me of the college dives of one's youth. You go fir the food, the amount of food served, the price and not for ambiance, Try the ettoffee or gumbo. Both are quite good.

I am allergic to seafood, so I was pleasantly surprised at the selection at an authentic Cajun place. The food is always excellent, and the serving sizes are large. I eat here often, and love the fact that the menu changes at least weekly. They mix traditional offerings with recipes of their own, and the price is right. Highly recommend... More

Gumbo Ya Ya is on my lunch group's weekly rotation for a reason. The food is consistently great, especially the Maque Choux. It is simply wonderful.

I think that this place has some great food and could give any New Orleans restaurant a real run for their money. It is very reasonably priced and the serving size is big, if you leave here hungry it is no ones fault but your own.

This is the best cajun place in town in my opinion. Delicious food, quick & friendly service, and a great laid-back atmosphere. My husband and I love this place!
