Description: Gumbo Ya Ya Fast Casual Cajun Creole is locally owned & operated by...
Gumbo Ya Ya Fast Casual Cajun Creole is locally owned & operated by Greg and Tressa Todd. Greg started his career in the Cajun restaurant business in 1989 as an assistant manager for New Orleans native Joe Vuskovich (Original founder of Jozo's Bayou Gumbo). Greg worked under Joe V's wing for many years as a prep cook, store manager & co-partner of the original Yats Cajun Creole. After several years in the business, Greg decided to open his own Cajun joint with a “keep it simple” motto & no frills. Thus the chalkboard menu and tax included pricing. The S. Broadway location opened it's doors in January of 2004 and continues to serve up Lexington's finest Cajun cuisine around. Greg takes great pride in knowing every plate of food served in his store is prepared by him using fresh local produce (no preservatives) & that he is dishing up damn good Cajun Creole for a can’t beat it price! So, whether your in the mood for the famous Yatwich, or you need to satisfy your irrepressible urge for Maque Choux, or you just want ya some Red Beans & Rice on Wash day, Ya Ya's has got you covered!

My first time here and the reviews are correct delicious food, served quickly in a pleasant atmosphere. I had the gumbo which was as good as I have had NOLA and Alligator was to die for. The food is made with a medium amount of heat, but spice-heads don't worry they have good selection of hot sauces to bring to... More

Great food at a great price. You know it's good when the line wraps around the building! We managed to get through on Mardi Gras. They were really getting into it with free King Cake, beads and other give aways. The food is really good and they'll let you sample anything to make sure it's what you want. I will... More

Great local spot for Cajun cuisine. Favorites are the Maque choux, etoufee, and jambalaya. They have a great homemade sauce as well.

Good food, excellent value. My first time trying "southern cuisine". Even though it is probably fast food, it didn't feel like it.

I was so excited to go here, I have been waiting for a cajun restaurant to open in Brannon Crossing, but this was a big disappoint, It was on a Friday afternoon ( I had waited for a month so everything would be ok) they were out of rice(what kind of cajun place runs out of rice?)and also no chicken... This was the first time that I had ever had cajun food and it was awesome! I got vegetarian dishes and they were delicious. Pretty cheap.

First off I won't promise to be an expert on Cajun food and how authentic this place is. That being said I enjoyed my visit. The guy at the counter was helpful when I ask what was good. He gave me suggestions on his favorites and even offered to mix two different entrées on my size large plate $7.75. Do... More

This reminds me of my college days. The atmosphere is relaxed and easy. The music is nostalgic. The food is mouthwatering. I craved their food for the past month, and finally got to go. Well worth the trip if you like Cajun.
