Description: Gumbo Ya Ya Fast Casual Cajun Creole is locally owned & operated by Greg and Tressa Todd. Greg started his career in the Cajun restaurant business in 1989 as an assistant manager for New Orleans native Joe Vuskovich (Original founder of Jozo's Bayou Gumbo). Greg worked under Joe V's wing for many years as a prep cook, store manager & co-partner of the original Yats Cajun Creole. After several years in the business, Greg decided to open his own Cajun joint with a “keep it simple” motto & no frills. Thus the chalkboard menu and tax included pricing. The S. Broadway location opened it's doors in January of 2004 and continues to serve up Lexington's finest Cajun cuisine around. Greg takes great pride in knowing every plate of food served in his store is prepared by him using fresh local produce (no preservatives) & that he is dishing up damn good Cajun Creole for a can’t beat it price! So, whether your in the mood for the famous Yatwich, or you need to satisfy your irrepressible urge for Maque Choux, or you just want ya some Red Beans & Rice on Wash day, Ya Ya's has got you covered!

Nice looking restaurant next to buffalo wild wings on South Broadway where you choose rice or penne base (cooked excellently any time of the day) then your choice of 12 various sauces they put on your base. If your not sure they will even let you taste test the sauces before you buy. Great tasting, friendly staff and I'm sure... More

This place has big portions for a small price. We sometimes run over to get our food to-go when we've got a day of meetings. We order, they scoop out the food, and we're off back to the office. They have a spicy sauce that will literally set you on fire. Hope you have a few glasses of water at... More

The food was ok. I liked that you can get 1/2 portions so I could try two different dishes. The Maque Choux was tasty, but had very few crawfish in it. The red beans & sausage was nice and spicy and had a lot of sausage. If you are looking for veg choices, note that even though there are many... More

I saw a line here when I first go into lexington... Thought that was a good sign. Tried gumbo yaya and was taken by it! Ask for the free samples... Food is amazing!

I'm from Louisiana. The only thing this place offers that's "Cajun" authentic is the Abita beer. The rest is not even close. Zatarain's box meals taste better. Unfortunately there really are no true Cajun restaurants in Lexington. The closest I have found is Furlongs and they have even lost their edge ever since the move to Tiverton.

The food is excellent and the menu variety makes it a place that's easy to go back to time and again. I have been a weekly customer for years and, in addition to the menu, the staff is without question exceptional. Several of the servers have worked there for years which speaks well for how the business is run. They... More

Place gets better every time I go there. Best value in town by far. The menu changes every day so you always have something different to choose from. You have to have the yatwich! It should be at the top of everyone's bucket list.

I live very close to Gumbo Ya Ya and can't help but go there at least once a week. The food is always hot, fresh, and delicious. I have tried nearly everything on the menu but the red beans and rice is my favorite. Their garlic hot sauce is delicious too!

Whether you're staying in, or getting food on the go, or catering your birthday, Gumbo Ya Ya is the best deal in town. Unlike other "Cajun" joints in town, Ya Ya actually has flavor and spice to their food. Would you like something less intense? Try the Maque Choux. Would you like to sweat while you eat? Try the Yatwich.... More
