If you're in the downtown area, check out Stella's for lunch. They buy meat and veggies from local farmers, plus grow a lot of their own. The lamb burger with basil mayo is one of my faves. Or try the grilled apple and Kentucky Bleu cheese sandwich. They are also open for dinner some nights and brunch on Saturday. more
After hearing for years about Stella's my husband and I finally took advantage of the July 3rd day off to eat here. What a wonderful lunch we experienced. Stella's is committed to using only local and Kentucky grown/raised products. We both ate wonderful sandwiches for our lunch and we are already talking about returning. Thanks Stella's for a great lunch. more
Weekend Brunch is very good--but the place gets crowded soon. Show up at 10 AM, and you should get a seat. Otherwise, you might face a wait. The food is excellent, though. Brunch offers several options for both meat-eaters and vegetarians, and is fairly light and not greasy. more

Great local food, nice atmosphere and great employees; go early because space is limited. I have found the quality of food variable. more
The food is good, the place is fun, but very small. You may have wait for a table but where else in Lexington can you get Elvis' "Peanut Butter and Banana" Sandwich? Their version of the "Hot Brown" is quite good, as are their desserts. A favorite of many UK employees although it's nowhere near UK's campus. Popular with many... more
I can see this place from my living room. Always great food, if you can get a table (I usually go before noon or after one to guarantee this). Tomato bisque, fried green tomato BLT, and Kentucky Apple & Blue Cheese all highly recommended. more
