I have been eating at Joe's since 1972. It used to be a little hole-in-the-wall place on Maxwell Street. Now it's located in a uniquely, renovated church on the same street. It's a great place to eat and drink with family and friends.

Joe Bologna's is "famous" for their breadsticks. And they are incredibly good. The pizza, however, is rather average. The service is friendly enough, but slow. The restaurant, itself, is rather interesting as it is in an old church. I wouldn't object to going back, but it wont' be my idea.

Our hotel recommended this place and now I can see why: first, the building itself. it was once a church, then a synagogue, and now a restaurant; the stain glass windows alone are worth seeing; the second reason is that without knowing I am a senior reviewer for Tp Adv, the owner came over and chatted for a few minutes... Really good authentic Italian food at reasonable prices. Great location, in a building that was once a Synagogue, and usually great service too (they're a little busy on Sundays after church). Always a good time at Joe's, a Lexington institution.

This is my paean to my favorite pizza restaurant, ever. I've been going to Joe B's since high school back in the 1970s. And in college. And ever since then. I've been to all the locations Joe has ever had. I was there at the old restaurant at the corner of Maxwell and Upper and remember when his current location... More

A group of us were in Lexington on business and the locals assured us this was the place we had to go. What a disappointment. Fortunately, we ate early, because it must get very noisy if it's crowded. One of our party is Italian, and he was particularly disappointed. One person's salad needed to be returned because she found a... More

We walked back to Joe's before a UK game at Rupp. It was lunch time but had no problem being seated but there was a wait for larger groups (only 2 of us). We were promptly greeted by our waiter who gave us his favorite recommendations from the menu. My husband ordered a pizza along with a breadstick for an... More
