Great local coffee house!

First stop in Lexington on vacation was for an afternoon coffee. It is right across the street from a beautiful park with awesome horse statues. Super personable, and very much a local joint. One of its best features is the wall of "pay it forward" with free cups of coffee that are given to strangers or friends alike. Some examples: 1) "a cappuccino for someone who just graduated" or 2) "a tall iced coffee for Karen" etc. Absolutely genius! Inside is pretty bare bones brick,... More

I like to go to independently owned coffee shops whenever I can and especially while traveling. My friend and I were heading back to Michigan from Gatlinburg and stopped at a public pool in Lexington after seeing it was still 30 degrees colder at home!!! We were heading back to the highway when I saw the sign and turned around... More

A Cup of Commonwealth has the nicest people and delicious coffee. The spot is a little hidden right off of Main St. but worth a trip in. It is small so if you go during prime-time it may be hard to find a seat. They also have amazing community spirit, so check out their coffee sleeve wall and the local... More

Best of both worlds - oh and the service was top notch. I had an americano and bought way too much chocolate - I couldn't decide! Since bean chocolates from all over the world including one of my favorites - French Broad chocolates in Asheville. Not too much room to sit and hang out but ours was to go and... More

This place is amazing! The staff, the coffee, the vibe! And you can check out all the Neat - pay it forward coffees. You can buy coffee for your friends, or people that you think need a coffee. Really this is a neat place. It is tiny & a little grubby. It is downtown & they have a running jar... More

Local shop with interesting art, a charismatic staff and tasty coffee. Plenty of parking and fast service. And, they give back to the local community with local fundraisers and local artists. Worth a try!

I love trying local places and this little coffee shop was adorable. Of course, it's small inside but the staff is friendly and they are very quick. I love their concept of buying a cup of coffee for a friend and pinning the coffee sleeve on a wall with many others. You can decorate the coffee sleeve and put the... More

The concept was interesting with coffee sleeves stuck to the wall for someone to choose one, take it to the counter and get a free cup of coffee. Then you purchase a sleeve and leave it behind for someone else. The coffee was standard and the atmosphere eclectic. Would try it again.
