My Family recently stayed at the wonderful Gratz Park Inn so we decided to try Jonathan's for dinner. We were quickly encouraged to get room service since we had a 4 year old with us. I declined as my child is extremely well traveled and behaved in restaurants. I asked for a table out of the way only to be... more

My partner and I had our first date here five years ago, and we have returned for special occasions. Jonathan's is a lovely, white-tablecloth restaurant in the Gratz Park Inn, a small boutique hotel on the north side of downtown. The setting is charming, the service is excellent, and the food is outstanding. Jonathan's is a combination of continental and... more

I moved to Lexington about 1.5 years ago and have been in general disappointed by the "fine" dining places in town. I might go somewhere, be impressed once, but then disappointed the next two times or something similar. Went to Jonathan's last week. Place was kind of empty for a Friday. Anyhow, the server was nice, but the food was... more

If fine dining is on the agenda this is the place. The dining room is lovely, the service is fantastic, and the food is very delicious - and creative. This is a great place to experience "local cuisine" recipes which is something we always try to do as we travel the country. You won't be disappointed! more

In general, let me say that your experience of food in Lexington depends a lot on your expectations. What is "good" food anyway? If you are a sophisticated foodie, you might be disappointed, whereas if you like home cooking, Lexington will please you. The only trouble is that one doesn't usually expect to pay $30 for an entree for home... more

The salad included apples from the tree in Jonathan's backyard, poached in wine. I am always pleasantly surprised at the inventive and delicious ways Jonathan uses local foods. And for the ultimate bourbon experience let TJ, the bartender, arrange a bourbon flight for you. Mine included six fine Kentucky bourbons beautifully presented and explained by TJ. The food, service, ambience-all... more

I have had the pleasure of dining at Jonathan's twice recently. Both times the food and staff was fantastic. I love that Jonathan's incorporates Kentucky fare into their menu. Jonathan is always creative with his menus and you leave with a true taste of Kentucky. Bravo. more

The food and service were both big misses. When 30$ entrees are on the menu, customers expect quite a bit. I found the pork chops to be over seasoned and inedible and presented in a tired bland fashion. Many of the dishes that came out of the kitchen were cold. In an effort to expedite the dinner I chose not... more

I would HIGHLY recommend this restaurant. The restaurant is inside the Gratz Park Hotel. I would suggest making a reservation. Although we did not have one, we were able to be seated upon opening for dinner at 5:30. They have an a la carte dinner menu, (i.e. we were very under dressed in our blue jeans)! For appetizers the waiter... more
