I attended college in Lexington, Ky 25 years ago, and when my parents visited we would go to Merrick Inn to eat. Well, 25 years later it is still my favorite place to eat when we visit Lexington, and it always wonderful! On my recent trip, we ate there two nights in a row. The first night we ate in... More

The Merrick Inn is always a treat. It's a little pricey, but well worth it for special occasions. It's the perfect place for a date night or a meal after a day at Keeneland and the patio is awesome on warm spring and summer nights.

We were on a 3-day first-time Lexington visit vacation and several of our neighbors recommended we try the Merrick Inn for dinner. It's kind of a curious place....partially fancy but also partially laid back...customers were dressed in their "Sunday best" and then others in t-shirts and shorts. First of all, the entire "Merrick community" has very limited parking and there... More

Get a reservation. First you will notice that you will drive into a residential setting then into the circular driveway. Valet service offered there. Service always excellent. Old style southern dinner experience. Set back and enjoy. Consider grouper fingers or artichoke and rock shrimp dip as starters. Our favorites entrees are Almond Chicken and Pecan crusted Pork Tenderloin. Both are... More

For a true Kentucky style Southern food experience you simply can't do better than the Merrick Inn. The moment you pull up front you are transported to a time when relaxed dining was an expected part of a fine meal. And the food, from Southern fried chicken, perfectly prepared seafood, slow cooked green beans, and corn pudding to name a... More

It's always difficult to please a large crowd, but we did so by having our annual family reunion dinner at Merrick Inn in one of their private dining areas. We had a party of 25 and received compliments from everyone on our selection of restaurant. The service was impeccable, and as always the food was exceptional. Our dining area provided... More

The waiter was very knowledgeable about all menu items and offered to have an item reserved as we explained that we were in no rush. While I appreciate vintage décor this seemed a little dark and outdated. The food was good as was the wine. The service was nice overall.

Setting up the event was well handled. We were able to visit with all our guests comfortably. The food, as always at the Merrick Inn, was perfect. Our servers were always on hand, but never pushy or in the way.

So disappointing! Who the crap knows what the food is like? We waited 90 minutes for a table and got fed up and left! Too bad I drove 900 miles from Texas to attend my Mother-in-Law's 75th Birthday dinner here. Had always heard this was a good establishment, but with service thus bad we just went to Cheddar's. I'm sure... More

We apologize that you and your group had to wait longer than you would have liked. In the summer months, our patio does stay very busy and as we do not reserve tables on the patio, longer than ideal wait times do occur on occasion. We did however offer your group immediate seating in either of our bar areas multiple... More

We had a "quick dinner" before a family ball game. The service was very good, the setting nice and we enjoyed the dinner. The salmon over beets was very nicely prepared and presented. The Mediterranean chicken was properly cooked and also very nicely presented. No time for deserts but they looked good too.
