If there is better outside seating, please tell me where!

My husband and I live 100 or so miles from Lexington, but we visit a few times a year. And we go to the Atomic Cafe on at least one of those trips. The outside seating is premier, the bar is stocked with a large variety of beer, wine and specialty drinks and the service is always excellent. The... read more

This never was one of our favorites, having given it more than a fair try on a half dozen or so visits. The food was not well prepared or presented, and the service halfhearted. Needless to say, when we learned it was closing down on just a few days' notice, we were not surprised.

Only open for dinner and a very nice complement to their neighbor, Doodle's, which only serves breakfast and lunch, this place is special. They offer a menu that will have you scratching your head and it's all good. Mexican? Yeah, but so much more. I don't know what ethnic fusion is, but maybe this is it. The menu is as... More

The food was just OK and the restaurant closed a week later. What can I say?! Great outdoor patio, lively bar scene for many years, you just never know. The owners were not very specific on the reasons for cloasing; and it was quite a surprise to those who had been customers for and friends over that time.

I'm always looking for unique dishes to try and at Atomic Cafe they are plentiful and delicious! The Ropa stew with fabulous green olives and capers was a hit as was the Island Sampler with the best coconut shrimp and to die for jerk chicken and wonderful trio of sauces. The Salmon is excellent served with local asparagus! I like... More

Each year during Coal Prep I make a point to visit the Atomic Cafe. Love the Food and the ambiance. If you love the caribbean flavors then this is the place to go. Very eclectic restaurant. Love the Mahi Mahi cooked in the bananna leaves - so good.

In a funky up-and-coming neighborhood of Lexington, this restaurant (it's not really a cafe at all) features mindblowing cajun-inspired cuisine. Huge portions, great seafood options, fast and friendly staff and a great atmosphere and decor makes it an entirely enjoyable experience.

Visited Lexington, and hoped to have a nice, casual dinner before heading back to Frankfort. My husband wanted garlic chicken, but it wasn't on the Cafe's menu, so he went for the jerk chicken. It was not a good sign when the cook, (I think that is who he was) came to the table with a large Kirkland container of... More

We've been coming here for more than 20 years and it's still a really enjoyable place to get to. Located in downtown Lexington, it is a Caribbean restaurant that's grown from a tiny cafe to a full size dining spot. Big portions, typical cuisine and reasonable prices. The bean with corn chips is a play on nachos- pinto and black... More

This restaurant used to be a favorite of mine but alas no longer. Patio music shuts down when UK starts playing football. Manager made suggestions on food and wine but no one checked with us after our terrible food arrived. We waited over 30 minutes for a drink and when I asked the server where our drinks were he replied... More
