I actually like the food here but management raised the prices $2 and $3 per dish. Just too much. I stopped going there.

This is a typical chain mexican place with bad food. The refried beans are the worst I have ever had. The only thing preventing me from rating it as terrible is the decent drinks. There are way better mexican restaurants in town.

When we walked into this restaurant we were impressed with the ambiance and decor. Unfortunately, our subsequent high expectations created by this were dashed in soon after being seated. The only positives were that the atmosphere, service, and the location (in Lexington Mall) The following disappointing aspects of our experience are: 1. The waitress claimed that their frozen margaritas were... More

Very attractive upscale decor relative to most Tex-Mex restaurants. Menu has the usual Tex-Mex options with some unexpected variations. Unusual attention to presentation (for Tex-Mex). Food itself is pretty good, and the service is excellent.

A long time ago my family and I enjoyed eating many a dinner at a little place called Chi Chi's. After it closed we were hard pressed to find a Tex-Mex restaurant that the entire family liked. Until we found Abuelo's. We have eaten there multiple times and have enjoyed every visit. They start out by bringing thin, crunchy tortilla... More

The chips are light and crispy and go perfectly with the spicy salsa. They have the best chile relleno in town and the service is always friendly. Try the happy hour $2.00 tacos from 4-7 in the bar every Monday through Friday!

Abuelos is a comforting place to get some decent Tex Mex. The interior is nicely decorated and is built to resemble the interior of a Spanish/Romanesque villa. Coupled with nicely dressed servers all in black, this façade gives the ambience of “sophisticated upscale” restaurant. The quality of the food doesn’t exactly match the atmosphere, but it is close. While the... More

If you want authentic Mexican food then this is not the place for you, but if you want a good American Mexican restaurant this is the place. The prices are a little higher, but worth it due to the quality of the food, service, and location.
