In July 2004 Will Pieratt and Kevin Heathcoat took a the huge leap of faith and opened Bourbon n' Toulouse by maxing out seven credit cards and simply hoping things worked out for the best. The business plan was simple: cook some damn good food, give back to the community that help keep their lights on and have as much fun as the law allows! Ten years later these guys are still extremely passionate about what they do and they haven't grown up a bit, just ask their wives! Always cooking and laughing, these guys are serious about having fun. Stop in and sample the wide array of tasty Cajun and Creole dishes, grab a beer from the ever changing selection and drift away to their own little version of The French Quarter. Not bad for a washed up musician and a retired elementary teacher!

Simple, delicious and affordable

They usually have about 12 things on the menu. You can get small or large. You can get a large as half and half of 2 separate items. And you can get each thing over either rice or pasta. Simple. I hesitate to list my favorites, because I've never had anything be disappointing.... and really... read more

Had great expectations as I had heard wonderful things about this restaurant, so we tried it during a Lexington visit as a family group. The people were lovely, but the food is quite ordinary. Very big on sauces which made up the bulk of the dishes. So if you are looking for an inexpensive quick bite, it's not bad for... More

I tell everyone that if there was only one meal left in the world that I had to eat everyday I would pick the "Southwest/ crawfish Ettoufe" from here!!! This stuff is amazing and addicting and I could eat it daily. Love this place. I have tried numerous meals here. All of them were very good. I come very often.... More

Amazing food. Efficient service and pleasant casual dining are consistently offered at Bourbon 'n Toulouse. The three vegetarian choices (Black Beans & Caramelized Corn, Vegan Black Beans, and Artichoke & Parmesan Cream w/Mushrooms) are all delicious, and can be "doctored" using the plethora of tasty sauces. The atmosphere might be described as funky but also non-pretentious and comfortable.

I have eaten there many times and have tried everything on the menu, it is all fantastic. They have counter service and causal seating. There are lots of interesting art and knick knacks on the wall. Parking in the neighbor is the only thing close to a negative.

We tried this place for the first time last Sunday after taking a Belgian beer class at the Beer Trappe a few doors down. This food is really good and so cheap. For 2 big plates of food with 1 soda and 1 beer it was less than $20. I also really like that since they offer so many varieties... More

Tried this place on a recommendation and it lived up to it's reputation. We got there right at lunch and it was pretty busy. A lot of cops were there, so it must be good. One thing I love about this place especially if you are new, you can try a free sample before ordering. We tried several and loved... More

Wasn't all that impressed. I had the jambalaya and red beans and rice, could have used a little more zip.

The variety of flavors in their dishes (I tried four!) Did not disappoint! I strongly recommend stopping by.
