Accidentally came across this vineyard/bistro while killing time waiting for our hotel room to be readied. Went in for a tasting and were interested in their bistro menu for the next evening. The tasting was quite good, but the evening meal the next night was really a highlight of our month long road trip. We had a cheese tasting, a... More

Hidden gem with great wine. We enjoy the cheese plate with homemade sausage. It is out of this world. The lobster pappardelle is also a favorite dish. I love Jean Farris. Wish I could visit more often.

Actually, more accurately, beware of giving these people access to your charge account information. It's never a good idea, but even worse here.

Jean Farris is out "go to" restaurant when we have a special occasion, like this past weekend (June 7, 2014) when it was our 25th Wedding Anniversary. We always get a bottle of the exceptional Cabernet. Very tasty !! We had the sausage and cheese appetizer which had a good variety of sweet/spicy sausages and hard/soft cheeses. We both got... More

We had eaten at Jean Farris in the past and were pleased, however on our latest visit, we were disappointed with the meal. The menu is limited, and I would recommend either adding more variety, or varying the menu from year to year. The menu seemed exactly the same as it was about one year ago. For the price, a... More

A group of 6 adults, we had only one server throughout the evening. We all ordered wine, cheese & sausages, dinner and dessert. Cheese & sausages were the best part. Dinners were served two at a time, so we were unable to begin eating together. Daily specials (haddock) were overcooked; mixed vegetables consisted solely of one very thin carrot strip,... More

This was our first time at Jean Farris and the atmosphere and food were simply wonderful. This is well worth the 20 min. drive from Lex. and we'll definitely be back. Get the sausage and cheese appetizers and try one of their blended wines.

A vineyard in Kentucky? Yes and one with interesting red wines and first rate food. Jean Farris is devoted to local foods, prepared elegantly. In warm weather, the patio is delightful, but we enjoy the restaurant just as much on a cold winter evening when it is quieter.

My husband and I like to go to Jean Farris for special occasions and work related dinners. For my birthday my husband took me for a dinner out without the kids. The restaurant was cold, so we asked if they could adjust the heat. We were told No because as the restaurant got busy it would warm up. The waiter... More

We ambled through horse country on narrow country lanes and arrived at the vineyard/bistro which had also been found by a good many other patrons. Love GPS. We had some just fine food and I enjoyed a wonderful wine while my family had flights and all tasted really good. My glass of a red that had a name like straight... More
