Every once in a while we have to go back to our roots and have some traditional home cooking. While we aren't Cuban, the Cuban cuisine is very similar to the Puerto Rican cooking we grew up with back home. We were thrilled to find this wonderful little restaurant and were not disappointed. We grabbed a table, browsed the menu,... More

My husband and I and another couple are dinner pals and always love a new experience. So,last Saturday night we tried this Cuban restaurant. The only negative was the amount of time it took to get our food - more than an hour. We didn't know if they were short-staffed or if this was just the Saturday evening crowd. The... More

I've been visiting this small family restaurant for years. Any time, any item, always delicious. The bread is fresh and wonderful, the staff are delightful and helpful. The atmosphere is great! Took our 15 month old and her G'pa recently. We had the Cuban, Black-bean and triple sandwiches. All delicious. For desert we had their tres leches and it was... More

We showed up 5 minutes before closing with a party of 7. They could not have been more accommodating. Nice variety on their menu. We all had something different, and everyone was happy with their meal.

Family run place, that is very clean, and serves authentic cuban food with lots of smiles. I will certainly return again and again.

While visiting Lexington, my friend and I stopped here at the recommendation of a Lexington local. My first impression was it was extremely small, very busy, and very clean. A table was found for us immediately. The Cuban couple who own/run this restaurant are absolutely lovely. They do not speak a lot of English but they speak enough to get... More

Just stumbled on this restaurant ....mom and pop ....small...just owner and his wife...and the food is inexpensive, plentiful and REAL Cuban cuisine. I had roast pork, black beans, fried plantains with fresh bread and some sort of Cuban soft drink for less than $15.00. Excellent!!!!!

I am Cuban, born in Cuba, lived in Cuba until I was 28, lived in Miami for 2 years, and I tell you the Cuban sandwiches in Old San Juan are among the best you can find anywhere in this country. They bake their own Cuban bread there, roast their own pork and put all the love a locally family... More

This small restaurant and store is located close to New Circle and Nicholasville Road making it easily accessible from anywhere in Lexington. If you enjoy home made food you will love the Cuban sandwiches, Red Snapper, Rice and Beans, Fried Plantain. Wash it down with a soda or homemade pineapple shake. Old San Juan is run by a lovely couple... More
