The Gardeners Arms is our favourite local pub! The owners and their staff are welcoming, friendly and attentive (what more can you ask for). The pub is great for a meal for two or to bring the whole family and the prices are really good considering the quality and amount of food you get. I highly recommend all food at... More

Contrary to rumours in the past few weeks, Steve and Jill are still at the Gardeners and are likely to be as nothing has changed. We ate there this evening, and true to form the rump steak was delicious, the beer and wine are equally good as is Steve's amazing humour.

Always good value especially on a Wednesday lunch when you can have 2 courses for£7.50! Very pleasant pub which, contrary to rumours is NOT closing owing to it being sold! Things are now, and will be in the future, as they always have been -- so go and enjoy the food and the welcome!

we arrived for lunch and were shown to our table that had already been booked, we were handed menus and was expecting someone to come back and take our orders not realising that we had to order at the bar as nobody told us and there were no signs either, well not that we could see, anyway we had starters... Been here before and the abbundance of home cooked fabulous food and steves wit and humour made for a lovely sunday afternoon. Would highly recommend going there to anyone. There are childrens swings and play area out the back or just relax and enjoy the peace and quiet of Tostock whilst having your meal. Even managed a pudding and it... More

We visited due to location really as was equidistant for my friends. The landlord was really friendly and made us feel welcome. We ordered starters and main courses. There is a free pool table which we took advantage of while we waited. The baked Camembert was amazing and would definitely recommend- but to share. The lasagne was also really nice... More

Excellent traditional pub food with bells on. A hospitable welcome as were moved to a table near the wonderful log fire and we were served excellent food by bright and friendly staff. We had a great and fun evening here and would certainly recommend this venue for a meal. In short a traditional pub, well run without the pretensions of... More

I was here over a year ago now, always wanted to post a review but never got round to it! So here it is. I had Fish & Chips and wow it was great (it must of been for me to still remember it!!) and I can remember it being a very healthy portion too - if you can call... More

The decor was a bit basic but the food was good & very reasonable. My husband is on a special diet & there didn't appear to be anything he could eat, but after consultation with the landlord, he was able to have a good meal which suited him. The staff were very helpful & the landlord very funny. If you... More

Popped in at 7pm on a Sunday evening. Wasn't expecting a Sunday Roast but it was on the board so we went for it. The most amazing roast pork dinner was served. Nothing like the shrivelled leftovers from the lunchtime service that we had been served in other establishments. Will definitely go again.
