Excellant

Midweek lunchtime meal of home made lasagne, salad and chips which was excellent. Great sunny garden to eat in and watch time go by. Very friendly service, definitely returning, a real country pub serving great value food.

Just a lovely place. If you don't believe me go try it yourself. Lovely old place. Delicious food in a delightful setting. Over looking Tortilla village green. Absolutely lovely. Have the cheese burger. And a pint.

This is our second visit to this pub restaurant, which was recommended to us by Michael & Christine of Drinkstone Park B & B. We enjoyed our first visit last September, and this return visit was just as good. The Landlord is very welcoming and should be proud of his business. We had a delightful waitress, who was very friendly... More

Warm welcome at this pub, our dogs were served drinks before we were! Lovely home cooked food, the steak and ale pie was lovely had loads of tender meat inside a good pastry crust, a huge plate of veggies and lots of gravy. My partner had the hunters chicken which was a huge chicken breast with an equally big slice/wedge... More

We popped in for lunch, and so pleased we did. We had the biggest and best roast dinner ever! We were surprised to find it so quite - the food was great, the staff really friendly and the pub itself cosy and inviting. The only downside was that we didn't have room for desert!

A lovely traditional beamed 14th Century country pub with rustic oak beams and large open inglenook fireplace. It's all about the warm welcome you receive from the landlord and his staff when you enter this pub, and immediately you feel as if you are one of the locals. And best of all, the food which is all home cooked is... More

Mum asked to go to the Gardeners Arms for her birthday. We had a wonderful meal in front of a large crackling open fire. Mum cooked her steak on a hot stone, and found the experience fantastic. Landlord and staff could not do enough - even when Mum asked for Soy Sauce to go with her steak! If you've never... More

My husband and I enjoyed a lovely meal here. The food was fresh and beautifully cooked. The atmosphere inside was very friendly and welcoming. The food was excellent value for money and we will return next time we are in the area.

Had a good evening in this lively pub. The food was home cooked and generous, had the haddock in batter, very impressive, a genuine, huge thick fillet of delicious fish, rate it as about the best I've ever eaten. The landlord was friendly and attentive, the beer was very good, so was the wine, I would have given this absolutely... More

Great to come across a pub that does good quality, home-made food at very reasonable prices. Stopped off at lunchtime - bit worried that the place was empty but a friendly welcome from the staff and reassurance that small portions would be fine for the two 90-year-olds with us was great. They both went for very retro (but perfectly-sized for... More
