Excellent lunch break

A delightful return to the White Horse at lunch time. Meal for 3 - we all had light lunchesand puddings,. Very tasty and fresh. One alcoholic drink - all for £60. Very welcoming as usual and friendly mature waitress service. Will be returning soon. Also dog friendly.

We decided to go here last night for our second anniversary as it's just down the road from us, and haven't been here that long so discovering new haunts. We booked a table, which is advisable, however, it was quite for a Friday evening. There was plenty of choice, we decided on main course and dessert. I had the Rib... More

This was everything a country pub should be, serving excellent food in a relaxed and friendly atmosphere. We could not fault it, as it was so friendly, there was a wide range of delicious food and the bar had plenty to offer too. It was beautifully kept and decorated in country style to create a warm and comfortable atmosphere. A... More

We eat here fairly regularly on a Monday night. The lovely warm ambiance( log fire & candles) and friendly welcome from the staff is always consistent and a fuss is made over our dog! A very impressive selection of meals on offer - all of which so far sampled are excellent. Real ale and a good wine lists supplements all... More

Over the moon to discover this gem hidden away near Ickworth House. We were happy when we found a home for a baby, a dog and the two of us. We were ecstatic once we had eaten a tremendous meal. Really wholesome ingredients and a range of excellent mini desserts to accompany a hot coffee (not warm coffee, not burnt... More

Having had several excellent meals with great ambience at The White Horse before, although none of them recently - tonight's Christmas meal with former work colleagues was very disappointing. The restaurant was uncomfortably cold and the three tables of diners were shoved up together in one corner of one of the dining rooms. We thought that more people were expected,... More

I was very sorry to hear you did not enjoy your recent visit to the White Horse, having enjoyed many other visits. We did have a problem with our heating system that day which was rectified in the late afternoon, being a very ancient building it does take time for the heat to build up and it was a particularly... Well very eventful. The most fantastic electrical storm happened and the power was cut off. Didn't spoil the evening though, staff stepping up to the plate. Couldn't even pay as only had a card and the lines were down. Very good food, lovely ambiance, up to the power going, dog allowed to sit under the table like she does at... More

Was just going to stop for a pint but was so impressed by the great menu that we stayed for lunch and enjoyed the beautiful day and the food at a table in the beer garden. I tried the goblet of crayfish tails, and then the Roast Beef and they were both delicious. Great service from a very friendly staff,... More

Took a group of Stroke Survivors here for lunch last Tuesday. (22 in the Group) For obvious reasons we chose the food from a selection offered in advance and this did not disappoint. The quality and presentation was excellent, staff very friendly and efficient...almost a family atmosphere with formal food. It was then we discovered that the owners were past... More

Even our dog enjoys coming here, and recognises it when she gets out of the car - she knows that she will get lots of fuss in a warm and welcoming pub. This was a Sunday lunch on a wonderful autumn day - very English, somehow. We shared the mixed appetisers (my wife and I, not the dog), before I... More
