Mid week dinner

Had dinner tonight at the White Horse. Excellent food and good selection of wines. I had some beautiful bullock liver with bacon mash and vegetables. My friend had belly of pork. Both main courses were superb. This was the best liver I have had in a long time. Starters and desserts - plenty to... read more

I am sorry to hear that you did not enjoy your Roast Beef Luncheon on Sunday. I wish you had pointed out your feelings at the time as I would have happily rectified any problems, offering more vegetables & roast potatoes. Our gravy is made traditionally from pan juices & roasted beef bones. The price of our Roast Suffolk Rib... More

Great service and food. Very friendly as usual. Good food-Hake, lamb burgers, crab and roast chicken. Baby and dog friendly. We sat inside and out. Allowed us to do inside fireworks on a birthday cake we had brought along - thanks very much.

My partner and I have dined here several times and the food never fails to impress, always a lavish menu choice and good sized portions, its very cosy with the low wooden beamed ceilings and the candlelit tables, ideal place to come for a romantic meal.

Lunch here again!! You really cannot fault this pub..its menu is extensive and a bit beyond the pub grub trend. It is always well presented, tasty and well cooked. From the 'resident' barman to the friendly owners you always fell very welcome here. On this occasion we had not booked, but met up with other friends on our way home... More

A delightful pub where there is always a very warm greeting and friendly atmosphere. Dogs are also welcome. A good imaginative menu and well chosen wine list. All competitively priced. Excellent service without the feeling of being rushed. A lovely old building, full of character and tastefully decorated. Amidst beautiful countryside that offer a wonderful range of hiking and dog-walking... More

Although we weren't able to arrive until 1.30 p.m. for Sunday lunch Darren worked his magic and found us a table. The pub is ever popular and we really enjoyed the buzz of the vibrant atmosphere while we started a delicious bottle of very reasonably priced Bordeaux and chose our meal. The starter of an hors d'oeuvres platter for two... More

One can forgive a certain slackness in service, or mundanity of food quality, if delivered and experienced with a level of warmth and charm. Sadly however, according to a recent visit, little in the way of such latter qualities were in evidence to redeem the former deficiencies. From the various manner of awards festooning the wall as one enters, this... More

Our visit to The White Horse Pub, Whepstead was really enjoyable and we would definitely come here again. After some research we decided to try this pub near where we were staying in Wickhambrook. For our starter we chose the Mixed Hors D'oeuvre and this was the best sharing platter we have had at a restaurant, the quality of the... More
