NO LONGER OPEN

Unfortunately this restaurant/pub is no longer open for business. I live in the village and like many of my neighbours would like to see it open for business again. It was a great place to eat and we'd like it to be the same again. Very sad.

Took a booking 3 weeks ago for a table on a Saturday night. When we arrive the place is shut!! Not much more to say. Either they have closed, or they can't be bothered to contact customers with reservations to cancel the bookings. We won't be going back again!

Perhaps we were here on an off night, but it felt a very different pub to the one mentioned in some of the previous glowing reviews. Let's start with the positives. Good friendly but unobtrusive service, nice bread and a pretty good whitebait starter. That earned the two stars. Things went down hill rapidly with the mains. Two orders of... More

We stopped here on the off chance and what a find. While it was pretty empty there was plenty of character and warmth. Food was tasty and everything about it and the pub means we asked for the evening menu to look at. It is interesting enough that we will be back for a meal. Very good.

A friend and I had lunch and an evening meal here recently and both were brilliant. Well-balanced seasoning, perfectly cooked, unfussily garnished - everything you want from a country pub. The lamb shank and fresh tuna steaks we had for dinner were stunning - juicy and tasty; the chef knows his protein! The veg - smashed potatoes with grain mustard... More

An impromptu booking, to see a long lost friend. Shame no others in this wonderful pub, but food and catch up more than made up for that. I had not been for a while, and this pub has changed hands a number of times,....please this time give it another go! Both of us had beef stroganoff, the best I have... More

I visited this pub again recently after a long absence. It has recently changed hands, so I was really pleased to find that the atmosphere is as welcoming as ever, service is excellent and the food is delicious. I would especially recommend the chocolate brownies - I want that recipe!

After 2 successive management changes in a very short period of time since March, I was thrilled to hear that the Brewers Arms was receiving good reviews again, so I had to return and see for myself! And thankfully I can report it is as excellent as it was before those management changes with friendly, helpful and efficient staff and... More

We heard there were new owners and menu so 4 of decided to give it a go for dinner. First thing to notice was that Jeff and Nina, previous owners from some years ago, were just finishing their meal. That must be a recommendation at least. Menu was not too long and had 2 veggie choices for each course. Well... More
