Been here on many occasions (I have written a review about this place last year) and took some friends who we recommended the Plough to and it did not disappoint, great place to eat.

A rearranged Christmas Eve meal, courtesy of landlady, Joyce, beautifully presented in a superbly decorated seasonal restaurant/ bar. All three courses tasty to guarantee future return visits. Friendly, homely, 5 stars

As always the Christmas decorations were just stunning and so tasteful. Our family of five ordered two Turkey, two Beef and one Pork roast all of which were excellent with so many vegetables. Everyone loved the roast potatoes, and the large yorkshire puddings. Do try the cranberry and mandarin torte - just melts in the mouth. Lovely atmosphere. Not cheap... More

We took a foreign exchange student here for Sunday lunch and again, we weren't disappointed. Lunch was cooked to perfection, landlord was very welcoming and the fire kept us warm while we ate. Would recommend this pub to anyone.

Beautiful old timber framed building made even more delightful by the clever Christmas decorations. Food and service were excellent with a wide choice of interesting dishes to suit everybody. We are not local but it was well worth the journey and we shall return.

The pub is an excellent, it is a typical English pub, thatched roof, fire place with open fire.. The seating is not cramped. All the staff very friendly and helpfull. The food was excellent value for money, the service was just right, not slow or not rushed. A very good selection of wine and beer.. Recommend this to anyone and... More

We visited the Plough on Sunday for a very nice and much needed lunch after a long walk in the surrounding countryside. We were very wet and muddy on arrival but we're made realy welcome, and enjoyed a wonderful slap up roast dinner of the best kind. We all enjoyed the starters which were plentiful and very good quality, and... More

Travelling from the Southern Hemisphere, we were treated to supper at the The Plough. Brian and Joyce could only be rated as A+++ in their level of hospitality, quality of service and good food. Richard M's review appears to be misdirected. The Plough is recommended to all who are looking for an outstanding english pub experience.

My wife and I are regular patrons of The Plough and feel we must respond to the review submitted by Richard M. The menu is always varied of excellent quality and the quantity is, well, something to marvel at!! As for saying the menu is full of stews I can only surmise that he is lacking in some basic culinary... More
