Good base for lunch meeting of retired boys!

Very friendly staff . Clean- cottage feel to pub. Good choice of food. Not long to wait for food. Nice puddings too. Definitely worth a visit.

We have been to The Plough several times for lunch and the food is always excellent. The menu is always varied and the odd South African dish makes a nice change fromm other eateries. Highly recommended.

This is a traditional English inn, complete with the quiet amosphere, and welcome. In a small village miles from anywhere We have just had the most wonderful meal. Menu is fairly limited, but as they say all good things come in small packages. Well worth the drive out into the countryside. I can not think of a more pefect place... More

Spent last evening at the Plough Inn, Rede, when our son and his financee came down from Peak District to take us out to celebrate engagement etc. As ever the atmosphere and food is superb, all hand cooked by the owner and his wife with an extensive menu. Between 4 of us we chose Crab au Gratin, Figgy Pork, Steak... More

I dine at The Plough quite often. The quality of the varied menu does not change. It is excellent in all respects. The host and his staff are all very welcoming, pleasant and courteous. It accommodates parties and quiet dinners for two. Highly recommended

I have eaten here quite a few times and the food never disappoints. The menu is varied and changes frequently. I have to stop myself having the Crab au Gratin which is just delicious. This time I had Beef&Ale in rich gravy served in Vole vents( can`t think how to spell that) with lovely veg - wow you could have... More

Recently had our first visit here for Sunday lunch. Very welcoming staff, a bit cramped and the wine could have been a bit colder. Food was nice and reasonably priced, however we felt a bit 'processed' as service was very fast not really giving enough time between courses to enjoy the experience. They did slow down after we asked for... More

I have eaten here many times and the food is always to a very High standard and neither I or any of my friends have ever been disappointed. Its extremely quaint with low oak beams and an open fire, just how a country pub/restaurant should be. With Brian behind the bar and Joyce in the kitchen its a great team... More

A little out of the way, but not far from Bury St Edmunds, very quiet location but reasonably busy for a week day lunch. Good beer, friendly bar. Choice of food is wide enough for most to find a favourite. Good prompt unobtrusive service; well worth a visit especially if you don't have to rush back to work.

It feels as though it's in the middle of nowhere and it is! What a great find based on the recommendation of friends. Superb choice of food with some unusual dishes such as oxtail, rabbit etc, The range of real ales was a welcome surprise and all was reasonably priced. We have already made a return trip!
