Birthday meal for friends

First visit here. We had a lovely evening, staff very friendly & attentive and the food was of a very high standard. I loved mine - I had goat cheese melts for starter and Rioja Lamb for my main. I would highly recommend this restaurant & shall certainly visit again.

Visited on a Friday lunch time with friends after a winters walk, despite being slightly late, the greeting was very welcoming and friendly. There was a good choice on the menu and some dishes out of the ordinary and was certainly a good step from normal pub-grub, although staples such as Fish n chip were also available. The service and... More

Our family of five had an amazing celebration meal for son's birthday. 2 of us had Turkey, 2 Beef and I had the Pork. All had huge Yorkshire pudding and a large variety of fresh vegetables. The starters and sweets were excellent too. An excellent start to Christmas week. The decorations were lovely, as always. Staff pleasant and helpful.

Fantastic food Greeted warmly by landlord on arrival and told we could sit anywhere! Menu on a blackboard by door has a wide variety of choices! I had whitebait as a starter, Dad and I had Figgy Pork as a main while Mum had Grilled Scottish Salmon all were big meals and cooked perfectly. Dessert choice was small but delicious... More

Went here on Saturday the 12th and just loved the surroundings. Very christmassy. I went for the filo prawns which was superb and then the braised pheasant. Once again amazing. My fiance went for Scottish smoked salmon and then seabass. All in all a very good experience and will definitely return. The hosts were lovely!

The first time we went the food and drink were good and the second time was probably even better. Very pleasant location and the landlord knows how to look after his beers. The menu is just sufficiently different to the usual pub food to make it worth going ,ore than once. The service first time round was a bit "iffy"... More

Meal was absolutely amazing. Pub is stunning with all the Christmas decorations up and lovely and warm with the real log fire. Took my partner here for his birthday and they brought his cake out, lit the candles and all joined us in singing happy birthday. Wonderful and welcoming. Fantastic food and lovely range of drinks to choose from. Definitely... More
