My kids, age 15 and 9 went here for a 'day-cation' to explore someplace new this summer. We were so surprised and loved it. Its over 3000 acres and is beautiful. You feel so far removed from civilization. There is a farm you can explore with all sorts of things growing as well as animals the kids can pet. There... More

Really liked the feel of the place. Not much here to not like. Plan to spend the night and enjoy the food. You'll be glad you did. Relaxing and laid back. Enjoyable.

Happened to visit on one of the days that an antique sale and auction was going on. This did not affect our visit at all, except that the parking was a little more difficult.

We were surprised to find the village open on New Year's Day and decided to try lunch, which that day included entry to the exhibits. However, we were eating rather late and had to rush to get to some exhibits afterward. The special menu had wonderful choices, several from the period, and the service was impeccable. It would be nice... More

I have been to Shakertown several times before during a previous job where I had to plan events, but I haven't been for leisure! I made a reservation for lunch for my mom and myself on Saturday. The grounds were beautiful, the staff were super helpful and nice! I'm glad we made reservations too, because the resturant filled up rather... More

This is an amazing place to have dinner spend the night and explore the history of Shakers. The dining is an experience all in itself with all the traditions and the awesome food. Great for family or for a romantic evening

Set within the Shaker Village Inn, the restaurant is the at the center of the hotel itself. Traditional settings on vintage chairs and tables with walls decorated with pictures and objects from another era surround the diner with history. A limited lunch menu with decent entrees and a sandwich option. Homemade corn bread and coleslaw are served with every meal.... More

My wife and I have been dining here about once or twice a year for over 35 years. It is an hour and a half drive for us, so we make it for special occasions. It is nice to be able to stroll through the village and go through some of the old restored buildings. This is a beautiful setting... More

We have supported Shaker Village and it's restaurant for over 35 years. The restaurant has recently gone through many changes. However, last night it was as though the old restaurant was back and the food was much improved! The meal began with the traditional homemade yeast rolls and cornbread sticks, and a relish bowl. Our party enjoyed delicious fried chicken... More

Three of us ate there for lunch. Not our first visit. The food was below in quality of what I would expect from any restaurant, let alone a place like this. Two of us had gastro problems within an hour. I was surprised at how the presentation was better than the taste and texture. The service was great however.
