Outstanding

Loved the food, the guides, the peaceful setting! The craft shop is wonderful, as are the guided tours at the crossroads and the singing/dancing lecture. Go!

Had a great dinner here. The server was wonderful ....welcoming, pleasant, attentive but not hovering. Fried chicken was good. The bourbon orange glaze on the salmon was very good. But the sides were outstanding. The Asparagus was cooked to perfection; the squash casserole...could have eaten a bucketful of that! The red potatoes were wonderful. And the lemon pie...mmmm-mmmm. Highly recommend... More

We had a great visit to Shaker village restaurant, although I do not recommend the beef brisket. The brisket was served cold, so we asked for it to be heated. Upon getting it back we had to request a steak knife to cut it. It was the toughest cut of brisket we ever had. Beyond that, the sides served were... More

We have eaten in this restaurant several times while visiting Pleasant Hill. The food is good and reasonably priced. Some of the vegetables are produced on the grounds of the village reminiscent of the Shaker community who used to live here. Nothing extraordinary but good food in an ample amount. We thought the pies were very good.

The drive out to, and the property itself are so picturesque. The historic buildings are on average 200 years old. The restaurant serves in a beautifully maintained building. Food is good, not great, but it's the whole experience you're going for. Must do.

My wife an I have been dining here for over 30 years. It is still a very good place for dinner, but, sometimes future management forgets what got the restaurant its reputation and repeat business. When something works for years why eliminate it? Thus, my criticism of Shaker Village restaurant--The favorite entree for years was the combination of country ham... More

On a snowy 28° night in January, I had dinner at the Shaker Village Inn. Though I kept my coat on during the meal, I had a swell time. The ambiance is calming and quiet and wait staff attentive. Note you should call ahead to make reservations. Because the Village is used as a venue, seating is often limited. I'm... More

Excellent food - reservations recommended - we had the Chicken Croquettes and Hot Roast Beef sandwich - lunch menu - and topped it off with Lemon pie, chess pie and fudge cake (3 of us) It was a very cool to cold day so the hot lunch worked well. The eldest in the party was using a walker and we... More

The rooms are very charming with Shaker pegs instead of hangars, though the plumbing is quite modern. I stayed in the West Family Wash House. The entire village is so peaceful and everyone who works there welcomes you like a long lost friend or family member. This was an amzing introduction for my first visit to Kentucky!
