Quite an experience

Let me start by saying that the food was great. We had the fried chicken, catfish, and brisket. The sides are family style meaning that they are set each evening and they are unlimited. The server literally serves you, meaning they scoop the sides out and plate them for you. All great food and... read more

The Village itself is fine and worth spending a night and a day. The only exception was the restaurant (I believe it is referred to as Trustees' Table). The food was average for its price, but what riled me was the snobbish, unpleasant attitude of the maitre d'. She would kow-tow to some and be most condescending to others, the... More

We were staying here for the weekend and were anxious to try the food at Shaker Village or the Trustee's Office; it seems to go by both names. We had reservations and were seated exactly where we had asked for. The hostess was very efficient and friendly. Our waitress was also very sweet and attentive. We started out ordering beers... During a recent weekend stay, my wife and I ate here for breakfast, lunch, and dinner (we considered going to Harrodsburg for dinner but decided to return here again, since we ha enjoyed our first two meals). We had prompt and friendly service at each meal, and we felt there was a nice variety on the menu. The traditional Shaker... More

Everything is fresh here and would be shaker approved. The shaker's were excellent cooks and this restaurant adhere's to the policy of great food and lots of it. Many choices on the menu and don't forget the pie. It's all good and the service was exceptional.

We ate breakfast, lunch and dinner at the Trustees Table while staying in Shaker Village over the weekend of the 24th. We loved the food! Everything was delicious. We especially like the veggie and pickle tray that was served with dinner. The only negative was how hot the dining area was! The outdoor temp was great, but inside the restaurant... More

Had chicken croquettes, chicken salad, and ham salad plus soup. Portions are large. The food is tasty. The ham salad is made with country ham so it has a unique salty taste. Save room for the lemon band chess pies. Service was very good. Make a reservation to avoid waiting .

Ashley was our server and she was outstanding. She made the visit even more enjoyable. We had every intention of having dessert, but the portions were so big we couldn't! We did enjoy the fried green tomatoes as an appetizer. I highly recommend those. I had enough left for lunch the next day!

we ate breakfast, lunch, and dinner here and everything the 3 of us tried was wonderful. Don't miss the Founder's sandwich. The smoked meats and potato salad were yummy.

It is fortunate that the restaurant is available and good because we attempted to go into town for a change of pace and found neither of the other TripAdvisor options open! The southern cooking is very good, but somewhat limited. Based upon comments from my group -- the lunch pork sandwich was exceptional, the cole slaw was very good, the... More
