The inn is in the heart of the Kentucky bourbon trail. I enjoyed the opportunity in the Old Owl Tavern to sample different Kentucky bourbons.

Hometown cooking that wasn't just greasy and fried. They had trendy, healthy options and the authentic KY food was prepared with the right amount of "southern" touch but not overkill! We ate there twice- it was so good! and, the prices are fantastic.

We actually dined in the quieter side, in the Owl Next right adjacent to the the Owl Tavern. The service was excellent and the meal was either # 1 or # 2 of our ten-day trip. The grilled salmon on heirloom tomato salad was absolutely wonderful. That should be offered on the menu vs as a special. The wine list... More

I had to ask and then, of course, I had to order it. Yellow Legged Chickens are grain fed and apparently it turns the skin on their legs yellow. I'm sold as it tasted great when combined with whipped potatoes, side salad and really good corn bread - fantastic. The weather was perfect so we sat out on the patio... More

We were staying at Beaumont Inn and had dinner at the smaller Owls Nest adjacent to the Tavern, very small room with no under 18 allowed so perfect for dinner. Started with a lovely wine and bruschetta-such fresh flavors and wonderfully spiced. Dinner was blackened salmon with steakhouse salad-2 very large salmon portions-very fresh and well prepared with just the... More

We did a premium tasting with Dixon which was a highlight of our trip. He is extremely knowledgable and the tasting was very informative. We followed this with a meal in the tavern - my ribs were the best I have had, they just fell off the bone. My husband wasn't as fond of his catfish but that was not... More

My wife and I went for lunch on Valentine's weekend recently, Great atmosphere, good service, my wife ordered a hamburger and fries which was very good, My grilled chicken was nothing special as in same as Mcdonalds along with really thin sliced and greasy homemade onion rings. Might go back here but will order something else.

Old Owl's Tavern is part of the Beaumont Inn, a famous local hotel and restaurant. It serves authentic Kentucky cooking with friendly service and a wide range of Kentucky bourbons, not to be confused with Tennessee whiskey. I ordered the Tavern dinner which is a piece of country fried chicken breast with a piece of country ham. If you have... More

Possibly the finest Old Fashioned cocktail in the country made with the premium bourbon of your choice. Excellent menu of local and Southern fare that will far exceed the expectations of even the choosiest foodie. The fried green tomatoes are a must try as is the fried chicken. Local produce and meats are featured by the kitchen and the staff... More

My wife and I had dinner with another couple recently at the tavern and enjoyed it tremendously. The atmosphere is great, the wait staff is very good, the adult beverages were excellent and the food was delicious. I especially enjoyed the shrimp and grits, as well as some of their drink specials. We try to get to the tavern at... More
