My wife and I went for lunch on Valentine's weekend recently, Great atmosphere, good service, my wife ordered a hamburger and fries which was very good, My grilled chicken was nothing special as in same as Mcdonalds along with really thin sliced and greasy homemade onion rings. Might go back here but will order something else.

Old Owl's Tavern is part of the Beaumont Inn, a famous local hotel and restaurant. It serves authentic Kentucky cooking with friendly service and a wide range of Kentucky bourbons, not to be confused with Tennessee whiskey. I ordered the Tavern dinner which is a piece of country fried chicken breast with a piece of country ham. If you have... More

Possibly the finest Old Fashioned cocktail in the country made with the premium bourbon of your choice. Excellent menu of local and Southern fare that will far exceed the expectations of even the choosiest foodie. The fried green tomatoes are a must try as is the fried chicken. Local produce and meats are featured by the kitchen and the staff... More

My wife and I had dinner with another couple recently at the tavern and enjoyed it tremendously. The atmosphere is great, the wait staff is very good, the adult beverages were excellent and the food was delicious. I especially enjoyed the shrimp and grits, as well as some of their drink specials. We try to get to the tavern at... More

My husband and I were really looking forward to dining at the tavern after looking at their menu. We left with mixed feelings, however, after our dining experience. The menu said they offered Guinness Stout as a beer selection, however it was not the Stout but the Draught that they actually carried -- not the same. My husband got the... More

We ate at the Tavern our first night at the Beaumont inn. The atmosphere is great. I tried the trout which, for me, was not impressive. My wife and our companions enjoyed their entrees very much and I overheard one patron comment that the pork barbque was the best he had ever eaten. The bar is fully stocked and also has... More

We were staying at the Beaumont Inn in Harrodsburg, KY recently and enjoyed a delicious dinner at their Old Owl Tavern with some family members. The selection of beer is great, good wine and tasty food enjoyed in a cozy and antique atmosphere with great service. They have a large selection of appetizers, mains and desserts. We were with a... Very rarely do you find a place that's a consistent favorite. The Owl is one of those. The catfish is the best I've had and the service is always top notch. I do wish they'd bring the corn pudding back, but over all, I count this as one of go-to stops. I take all my out of state visitors.

While staying in nearby Danville, the hotel clerk at the Hampton mentioned the Beaumont Inn and the affiliated restaurants for dinner. After a short drive, we arrived and went to the Old Owl Tavern and were very glad we did. I don't find good shrimp and grits often in southern Indiana and the Old Owl Tavern filled that need. We...
