The building doesn't look like much but the food is excellent. Very small menu but everything they serve is outstanding. Be sure to bring cash as they don't accept credit/debit cards.

We were in the Ky Lake/Barkley Lake area for 3 nights and attempted to eat here twice. Both times the closed signs were in the windows both times. Both times were just before 7 pm. So I can't critique their food as we were never able to get any.

Since we are not from KY, we didn't know what to expect from their style of BBQ. If this is the standard - sign me up for more!! My husband had the pork and I ordered beef. Both dishes were delicious. As other reviewers mentioned, the meat was served "dry".. I want to clarify and say that while it was... More

We loved the BBQ and the service was great, my daughter had the grilled cheese sandwich and said it was excellent. I grew up in W. KY and remember going there as a child and it is still just as good as I remembered it to be.

My best friend and I each got the beef plate. We expected brisket but it was more like a flavorless roast. My portion had plenty of fat, to the point that only two-thirds of it was edible. The plate includes plenty of fries that reminded me of Great Value fries. The total was $20 when it should've cost around $10.... More

This is not a fancy place and there are no printed menus, instead there is a sign on the wall that tells you what is available and the price. Everything was very reasonably priced. I got the pork plate. Pulled pork served with plain white bread, fries and some of the best coleslaw that I have had in a long... More

The Knoth family has been running this restaurant (and its predecessor location) for years, and their experience in smoking meat shows. The barbeque is tender and flavorful. The sauce has a smooth, smoky flavor, with the right balance of acidity, sweetness and peppery taste.

We purchased food for carryout. It was excellent. The young lady who took our order was very friendly and helpful. The meat and sauces were very good.

I've been to quite a few of the alleged 'best barbecue' places across the country and this is my favorite for the pulled pork. Barbecue cuts such a wide swath through culinary definitions that there are too many categories and styles to call anything 'best barbecue', so this review is about the basic pork. Perfectly moist, tender, and the right... More

We should have turned around and left. As soon as we walked in the place, we were never greeted by anyone, weren't sure where to go to get seated as there are two entrances and two dining areas and it is all old & rundown. The few other tables that were occupied, the people just stared rudely at us. But... More
