What an improvement

Like many locals we abandoned visiting here during the reign of the previous incumbents. We visited for a Sunday lunch after hearing of the new ownership. The improvement is immediately evident, the service was extremely friendly and efficient. The main course was cooked to perfection and extremely generous providing excellent value for money. My only slight criticism was the desert... More

We have been previous regulars at the talbot but have not been for a while due to previous bad management. We heard that new managers had taken over and as we live very close thought we would give our local a try. The young man behind the bar was great very friendly and welcoming and fab service. We really enjoyed... More

Having eaten at the newly refurbished and under new management Talbot Inn I can thoroughly recommend having an evening meal there. The steaks were cooked to perfection and the puddings to die for. My husband and I live in the village but have not frequented the pub in recent times, however, the place is looking really good now and the... More

Fantastic that's all we can say not only to have our local pub back, Clean, Warm & Welcoming, also have drinkable lagers and beers, but tonight we had food there, and not only was it fresh produce but tasted amazing, well done to the young but talented chef they have there. It was lovely to see local drinkers back, and... More

Hi. At last the pub is under new management and has had a complete refresh. Not serving food yet (should be in a couple of weeks). Pub now clear and fresh. Bitter now drinkable at last. If the beer, staff and general cleanliness of the pub is anything to go by then the food should be good to..... Waiting to... More

I'm a local villager and have tonight attended the newly opened Talbot Country Inn, under new management and freshly refurbished. So pleased to say it was welcoming, full of customers and a great place to spend an evening with friends. No food yet as they are having a whole new kitchen fitted but they had put on a great variety... More

Never again will i ever visit this place, iv never been to a place where the service was awful, the food was awful and the landlady was so horrible. waitresses were sloppy/ slouching on their phones constantly, the landlady charges around telling customers all about her sex life and disturbed our meal a couple of times to talk about her... Badly cooked cheap food at a fairly expensive price; even the chips were soggy. The table was sticky and needed a good clean. Very disappointing. Really begrudged paying for the meal, it was so bad. I rarely write a bad review but this place deserves one!

Booked again when friends who have repatriated back to UK from USA visited us. Service as usual attentive and friendly. Food is cooked fresh to order and steaks are perfect! My wife would like more Veggie options though but it's a warm & homely place with great beer too!

After reading the last two reviews I was a bit apprehensive when a friend booked a table at the Talbot Inn for lunch on Sunday 13th April. The inn is an old inn with lots of character and the landlady was really friendly. It was very quiet when we went which she said is unusual but it didn't bother us... More
