Went here late at night with a large group after work. We got lost several times getting there and so did the other car so we showed up rather late. But they still gave us excellent service, the food was great. The waitress was fun. Great expierience.

Enjoyed a nice sushi dinner. Young waiter was very attentive and helpful with answers to our questions. Keep in mind that you can unfortunately still smoke in Kentucky restaurants

This is a medium well kept Northern KY secret. They have a good handle on sushi, and everything is fresh and well prepared. The wait staff is very helpful and willing to educate you, or give suggestions in regards to the sushi. The seaweed salad is good, along with the miso soup. Next door to them is a Japanese grocery... The traditional seating is lots of fun for a large party of 6 or more. The food is excellent and the staff is very helpful, they taught us everything we know about Japanese dinning. I have a few food allergies and they look out for me every time I come in to dine. They have become part of our family,... More

From our first interaction with our waiter, he made us feel as if we were a burden on him. Impersonal is an extreme understatement. He ignored us as we walked in, and when I asked for a table for five, he said we could sit at the chabudai and then walked away. We had never been there before, so we... More

Our work group of five arrived about 7:30 on a Monday night. finding Matsuya uncrowded. Long story short, the food was good, but the service made us wish we had never set foot in the place. I enjoyed the vegetable tempura, edamame, and California roll. I'm vegetarian, so not a good reviewer of sushi restaurants :-) My co-workers, however, do... More

Based on the reviews on this site, we opted to try lunch here. After 1PM, we were the only people in the place. (It would seem that the traffic here is mostly for supper.) I'm no expert on Japanese food, but it was pretty tasty. I had the beef tempura which came with miso soup and a salad. Overall a... More

We have been to Matsuya many times over the course of about 12 years. The sushi is always fresh and beautifully prepared. Appetizers are excellent, particularly, Hirame ume jiso age ( Flounder layered with pickled plum and shiso leaf lightly battered and deep fried), Gyozo, Agedashi Dofu, and Fried Shumi (shrimp balls), The petite entrees (various soups, noodle dishes, and... Very convience across from Florence mall. Very clean. Ordered the chicken rice soup, Wow taste awesome. Presentation is very nice. Tuesday had 1/2 half off price sushi, nice, saved a little money, of course I order more then I could eat. Order the eel wrap over rice and seaweed. Service was exceptional.
