Valentine treat

What a great, chilled out evening, the chance to chill out in front of the fire with a drink before being led upstairs for dinner was great. The food was spot on at a reasonable price and the laid back but efficient attitude was refreshing. Its remoteness could detract for some but we liked it.

It is so lovely to have an aperitif in the bar before going upstairs to the restaurant for dinner. Front of house hosts Peter and Eliot are excellent instantly putting you into a relaxed mood. The excellent food is all home cooked by the Peter's wife and comes from top local suppliers the quality shines out! They open for private functions... More

It is like visiting your friends home. The warm welcome, very relaxed atmosphere, roaring log fire, and wonderful home cooked food mean you can't help but unwind and feel happy. Every course was cooked to perfection, especially the beef hotpot with gravy to die for. The vegetables were also wonderful and cooked exactly as I like. They created a pudding... More

It is unlikely you will notice this restaurant when passing as it is hidden away in the countryside. If you go on the web site do not be put off by the fact they have a landing for helicopters ! Mum does the cooking and husband and son look after the guests.Food is classic English and do not be surprised... More

Nestled in a scenic & private location, this is a relaxed atmosphere dining experience in a restaurant that is full of history. It's a little difficult to find as the restaurant sign is at the entrance to the drive but at ground level. Situated just outside the village of Shackerstone nearer to the village of Heather, caution needs to be... More

Dined here for Sunday lunch with my husband and sister and brother-in -law , what an absolute delight . From the minute we walked into the cosy seating area to relax and have an aperitif we instantly felt at home , Peter was the perfect host and we all enjoyed listening to his banter regarding the mill and how he... The Help Out Mill is set in a stunning location in the middle of open countryside with an approach off a country road with long a driveway through corn fields to reach the Mill House. You park in a grass field car park and cross a bridge to reach the Restaurant through a wonderful extra wide sized entrance door. The... More

What a find, went with friends, our first visit and certainly won't be our last. A lovely Sunday lunch experience from the welcome through to the excellent Sunday lunch which is like home made with delicious starters can recommend the beetroot bake as a starter and the puds, if you have room are excellent, all home made. Certainly worth repeating... More

My husband and I took his parents here for a joint birthday meal last October. I wasn't sure what to expect but was very pleasantly surprised.
