I loved it. From the moment we arrived we felt extremely comfortable and were made most welcome by our host. There were only a dozen diners (including us 2) so the restaurant wasn't heaving but it still had a lovely atmosphere. The décor is slightly odd but this only adds to the experience. The way I'd describe the food would... More

We booked as a party of four 7pm on a Saturday night. The Help Out Mill is set in the countryside in NW Leicestershire, and can take a few minutes to find at night. Navigating by postcode Google maps takes you to the end of the drive. Tip: look for the lights across the field. We drove up the gravel... More

A little hard to find but what a lovely place when you manage to get in! We had a private party this weekend with almost 35 people and the food was homely and tasty, the desserts were terrific (I mean, homemade dessert trolley, come on!), and the service was exceptional. Peter, Eliot, and their family made ours feel so welcome,... More

Situated amongst a ramshackle group of old buildings at the end of a track on the outskirts of a small village, it's not the easiest place to find, but well worth the bother. This is an informal and unstuffy little restaurant run by a delightful husband & wife team serving good traditional English fare in gloriously old-fashioned and comfortable surroundings:... More

What a great, chilled out evening, the chance to chill out in front of the fire with a drink before being led upstairs for dinner was great. The food was spot on at a reasonable price and the laid back but efficient attitude was refreshing. Its remoteness could detract for some but we liked it.

The excellent food is all home cooked by the Peter's wife and comes from top local suppliers the quality shines out! They open for private functions... More

It is like visiting your friends home. The warm welcome, very relaxed atmosphere, roaring log fire, and wonderful home cooked food mean you can't help but unwind and feel happy. Every course was cooked to perfection, especially the beef hotpot with gravy to die for. The vegetables were also wonderful and cooked exactly as I like. They created a pudding... More

It is unlikely you will notice this restaurant when passing as it is hidden away in the countryside. If you go on the web site do not be put off by the fact they have a landing for helicopters ! Mum does the cooking and husband and son look after the guests.Food is classic English and do not be surprised... More

Nestled in a scenic & private location, this is a relaxed atmosphere dining experience in a restaurant that is full of history. It's a little difficult to find as the restaurant sign is at the entrance to the drive but at ground level. Situated just outside the village of Shackerstone nearer to the village of Heather, caution needs to be... More
