I love this place! The staff is great, the menu has millions of choices and I have yet to find anything on the menu I did not enjoy. The lunch buffet has a wide variety of choices and they have the best cheeseburger in town! If you are looking for comfort food, this is the place.

We were looking for something that felt local and not coming out of a corporate machine. This was it. The place can't seem to decide if it really called AJ's or the Red Rooster, but I believe it says AJ on the outside and Red Rooster on the inside. We stopped in for breakfast and ate a variety of traditional... More

After a long drive, the last thing we wanted was fast food. In driving around "downtown" Danville, we chose this place because there was a parking lot. We knew we were in for a treat when we walked in the door. This was local color at its best. The décor is flea market country, complete with a collection of rooster... More

Wife and I enjoyed the lunch buffet on a Friday-- complete with frog legs and catfish, fried green tomatoes, corn cakes, and a double fudge brownie cake among other things. If you are watching your cholesterol, weight, calories, etc. then avoid this restaurant. If you want old-style Southern cooking that will leave you full for days-- give it a shot.

Excellent service, and SO MUCH food for so little! I had an awesome meatloaf, which came with TWO sides and a delicious cornbread pancake. The decor was fun- roosters, license plates & humorous signs everywhere. A definite gem in Danville.

My friend and I stopped in today for the first time. We just loved it! Our food was fantasic and we had the sweetest little waitress (Trivia). She did a good job. The place is clean and fun and prices are good. We will be back!! Thank you ladies!

Stopped in for lunch while travelling through. The waitress was very nice. Had a wonderful deep fried chili dog! There were several Ford Model A cars in the lot. We spoke to one gentleman about his car. I'd stop again for another chili dog if I am ever in the area again!

I had a breakfast special and my wife had a very large chicken sandwich platter. Food was good and service was fine. Would definitely go again.

Red Rooster was always THE place for us to go for breakfast in Danville. However, last time, under new management, I assume, it was less than good. Breakfast is the most important meal of the day, but from now on, I'll do it elsewhere. Too bad, too, because it's convenient, low-key, relaxed. It's just that the food isn't what it... More
