our waitress Erica was amazing! Her and my Cobb salad and the Christmas decorations were the three best things in the restaurant. My Boyfriend had a smothered chicken, he had been there before and even had this dish before he said this time the chicken was standing over cooked an all-around not much flavor. He did enjoy the blue cheese... More

We typically eat at the Purple Onion when we visit my family in Greenville, Kentucky. Central City, and the surrounding area, have mostly fast food chains such as McDonald's. Being from a large city like Chicago, it is difficult to rate restaurants in a small town. Overall, we enjoy the food (the sweet potatoes in general) at the Purple Onion.... More

The pasta with sausage tasted like it was Campbell's tomato soup the sausage still had outer skin on. The fish was not good only three hush puppies with it just over all not great.

The food here was okay, but the service was horrible. The few times that I have been back, I just went upstairs for the drinks. The wait-staff seem bored, but yet take their time to wait on you.

The setting is polite and comfortable. The meals are generous and are of high quality food. The portions are perfect and parking is adjacent to the restaurant. Service with a smile too. I would visit again without hesitation. Beer selection leaves a little to be desired, kiddie beers are no problem and just 3 real beers to choose from.

This restaurant is hard to find because there is not a sign and locals will tell you its next to the movie theatre but you drive by and hard to see the restaurant. There is an upstairs and downstairs, main diference being the bar is upstairs. The bar staff was friendly but looked bored. The entire restaurant on a tuesday... More

The wait staff is kinda rude and the owner gave me a hard time when I tried to use a gift card that I purchased from a local television show and it seemed very scammy. The food is just OK not that great and the service is very very slow. I will not go back, EVER!!

I often go to this restaraunt for the drinks. I have eaten here many times but never on my own free will. ha! The rolls are always hard and stale and the fried pickles are too salty to eat. I would recommend people to come here only for the bar. The bartenders are always friendly (as is the waitstaff) and... More

Pros: Very good food. This is one of the few bars in town. Large selection of beer and liquor. I received exceptional service at the bar when I was there. The bartender was very knowledgeable about Kentucky bourbon, as well as everything else behind the bar. Nice old building. Great place to go for a sit down meal at a... More
