Worth the stop

Just what a small town cafe should be. Family and old friends oriented. Standard cafe menu with a few specialties like their burgers and pies. All the sandwiches are priced between 1.99 and 5.29. Special burgers 7.99 salad bar 5.29. But the view of the river could justify doubling the prices

Enjoy breakfast overlooking the Ohio River. Our Harley group took a ride and ate breakfast one morning. By the looks of the outdated restaurant, we weren't so sure what we were in for. This was one of the best breakfasts we all have had. Every plate at our table was nearly licked clean. My husband said the home fries were... More

Time passed this diner about 40 years ago. But along with the old decor, comes the old practice of good food, good prices, and super friendly service. Couple that with a great view of the river, and this is a spot that you'll find yourself wanting to revisit. Biscuits and gravy and coffee was $4.24. I'd call myself an expert... More

Carrolton is not exactly New York or Paris when it comes to fine dining, but if I wanted New York or Paris I would have gone there instead of going to Carrolton. Anyway, this place seemed to consistently have the best reviews in Carrolton. It was good. We had a hamburger and fried chicken. Both meals were good; very much... More

My wife and I went to Welch's Riverside Restaurant for breakfast. We both had cheese omelettes while she had hash browns and I had home fries, along with toast. The food was tasty and the service was friendly. We sat in the dining area in the rear of the establishment, which provides a great view of the Ohio River. If... More

My friends and I went to this restaurant for lunch on 11/10/13. We decide to meet here because it was a mid point for each of us. I’m coming from Cincinnati and she’s coming from Louisville. We had never been here. I walk in and immediately I am like “dive” The décor is hodge podge with no rhyme or reason... More

We came here for breakfast while we were camping/boating. It was a great small town restaurant with a great view of the river. Wish it had a dock to pull the boat up to and it would be perfect. I got biscuits and gravy and a breakfast sandwich. The sandwich was especially good. Will be back next time.

My wife and I ate a Welch's on a Saturday morning for breakfast. It is a hometown, local joint. Nothing fancy here. Lots of senior citizens that looked like they meet every Saturday (possibly everyday) for coffee before they're off to run the plows. I had an omelette, and it was excellent. Home fries were very good too. Pancake....good too.... More

We always look for some good home home cooking while away from home and this spot did not disappoint! We went for a late breakfast-which is served all day, by the way. We parked on the square and walked over. It looked small from the outside but it was quite large inside and had an old timey feel to it.... More
