Tousey has a nice setup, very historic, and we like the specials through the week, but this last week or so they got rid of at least two of their very good waitresses - - although it's their business, they can employee who they want, part of getting comfortable with a place is having a favorite waiter/waitress who knows you... Gourmet comfort food may sound like an oxymoron, but at the Tousey House, it's good eating, southern style. The setting is an historical old house surrounded by other historic buildings in a small town in Northern Kentucky. The meat and vegetables are as local and fresh as possible. The preparation and presentation are excellent, and the the wait staff and... More

With friends visiting from Florida, we wanted a great meal in a great setting. My wife and I chose one of our all-time favorite restaurants - the historic Tousey House - and it once again exceeded expectations. The service was very good, all dishes were excellent, and the fried chicken is still the best we've ever had!

Went to dinner with another couple and had a great evening. Food was excellent, tasty and well presented. I was expecting small portion sizes, but they were just right. Indulged in the bread pudding for dessert which was A+. Very good service and nice ambiance. This is a semi-upscale place...jackets for the gents is definitely appropriate. Will plan to return... The Tousey house is worth finding, Good food and mid week specials. I took my visiting boss there on a Wednesday and enjoyed their half priced wine bottle special. The food is well prepared and the service was very good. Solid place.

We had an excellent meal, the service was good, as is the atmosphere. It was a lovely evening and I guess we should have asked to sit outside. They do have seating outside when the weather will allow. I had not been to the Tousey House in a while, I am sorry to say, because everything was excellent. We started... More

This is an interesting old house converted nicely to a restaurant. The food was really delicious, with a good selection/variety. They easily accommodated our party of 6. The only negatives are parking...on street or a lot that is a bit of a walk...and it can get a bit noisy in the dining rooms. Still...food was well worth it!

We dine at The Tousey House often but have never posted a review. If you want a welcoming and historic atmosphere with a great working staff and amazing food, make the effort to travel 4.5 miles to the center of the Historic town of Burlington, Kentucky. Tonight I had charred grilled salmon served with local sweet corn, green beans and pecan wood... More
