A gem worth a repeat

we ate here twice in one week it was so good. The shrimp and grits is worth the double experience. The first night I ordered the fired chicken special, which was amazing and night two I enjoyed the halibut, which all three of us ordered. Based on recommendations. We were not disappointed. Coming from someone who was raised in Northern KY and who has lived here for 25 years, the food scene leaves a lot to be desired. Tousey House does not fall under this category. It's owned by the same people that own Greyhound Tavern, a local institution for decades, but it is far superior to its sister restaurant. It's a... More

I had a friend in town and was looking for something new to try for lunch. The restaurant is located in an old historic home. It was a nice afternoon & we dined on the patio. YUM!!! The food was so good. Beer cheese w/ warm pretzel rolls appetizer is a must. Bourbon selection is incredible. Our waitress was attentive... More

I have been to this restaurant a lot and it is always great. I love their southern food! Their fried chicken is awesome, their cod sand which is amazing and they have the best sweet potato casserole I have ever tasted. And their desserts are also the best.

Joined family and friends here for a late afternoon Mother's Day dinner. Service was prompt and friendly. Every dish the group had (hot slaw, salads, pork tenderloin, fried chicken) had true "home made" taste. When green beans are served and you know by smell they're prepared with ham hocks you know its the real deal. For dessert I split a... More

I see some of the reviews and wonder if I just ordered the wrong thing. I think the food was good - not great and the "meals" are always typical Kentucky meals. Like Crab Cakes - there aren't a lot of crabs in KY. The service is slow - very slow the night we went dinner. So slow it was... More

The service was excellent, and the food was delicious. We enjoyed the historical atmosphere of the restaurant and tavern. This restaurant is a gem.

The filet was overcooked and the food overpriced for the quality. The service was slow. The desserts were good.Overall, I would not recommend. For a good filet, I suggest visiting Jag's Steakhouse. :)
