Classic Ameri-mexi restaurant.

Greasy, full of cheese and beens, covered in thick cream and a serving size you could call a meal for a day or two. This is your classic Mexican food reinvented for a american audience - its not good, its not bad, its just food and a lot of it. Its a nice fatty meal once or twice a year... read more

Ate here at the recommendations of a family member who had eaten here before. The restaurant looks like a fast food place which had been repossessed. The food, however, was beautifully presented. Each one of the party of 5 had different dishes and each dish was more than adequately sized and each person enjoyed what they had ordered. Being from... More

I often come here when we want to eat out since it's close to campus, having good service, good food and affordable price. I like to eat in the patio because it feels so good with the breeze. My favorite food here is the special fajitas with both chicken and steak in it.

I was too full that day so I just ordered a guakamole salad. It tasted fantastic! The home-made salsa is great too. My friend order taco, and he thought it was not so good. The portion is pretty big! Good service

My wife and I ate here before Berea graduation last Sunday. We were running a little behind schedule because of roadwork on I-75 in northern Tennessee (go figure). We chose to eat Mexican food since it was just across from the college and Mexican food usually serves quickly. Quickly, in this instance, was an understatement. We were served less than... More

The picture is not of the El Rio Grande restaurant. El Rio (as it is called locally) has really good Mexican food at a very good price. Waiter/waitresses are fast and efficient. It's a family owned and run restaurant (not a chain.) I recommend the Luncheon specials for best value.

I had been to Mariachi's twice, and one of my friends suggested that I try Rio Grande, which he prefers. On his advice, I gave it a try. The service was excellent, and I was happy with the food. The chips and salsa arrived very quickly, as did my drink. The salsa was fine, but not remarkable; I thought the... More

We stopped for dinner and had good service. The staff that we met were from Mexico. The salsa and chips were average .I was happy to see the real Mexican sodas and ordered a pineapple one. The dinners we had were very good. I has the Chili Rellenos and Taco combo with rice and beans, and my friend had a... More

If you end up in Berea you must stop at Rio Grande. It is a fabulous restaurant and a great way place to socialize. I have been here twice now with several friends. There fajitas are my favorite. They serve a very good portion for the price you pay. In addition the food was hot and I could not finish... More

I thoroughly enjoy the service, ambiance, and food at this restaurant and the decorations and atmosphere seem very authentic. They have a beautiful patio for outside dining and the prices are more than appealing for college students, high school students, or tourists with little discretionary income. The only negative aspect of this establishment is that they have still yet to... More
