One of the Best

My family, including myself went there for brunch. I had the pleasure of talking with the chef. The staff is courteous and the service is great. The food was exceptional. The area is historical with lots of shops and history.

Sadly, the food and service can be excellent one time and not the next. The atmosphere and history are worth a 5 rating, otherwise possibly ranging from a high 4 on a good day to a low 3 one a bad one. Of note is that it is the only place to legally purchase a drink in Berea, so a... More

Boone Tavern has a great college history and is beautifully decorated - all handmade fabrics and furnishings by the students themselves, however, pricey portions were TINY. I ordered the duck salad and the 4 slices of duck with thin and dry resting on a tablespoon of rice noodles. The spoon bread, well presented by a server, was dry and burned.... More

(This was a Thursday night.) Atmosphere and service are very good. But it goes downhill after that. You would expect more southern food on the menu for a restaurant supposedly known for its southern hospitality and food. The menu states that the food is southern done differently. Our party thought it was not at all "southern." We all wanted fried... More

We stopped for a bite on our way to Shaker Viiage and had a delish meal. I chose all veggies such as greens, pinto beans, corn bread...etc. it was all completely delicious and reasonably priced.

The food was wonderful and the history is amazing. Be sure you take the time to walk around and take in all the history. I absolutely loved it all.

You won't go wrong eating here. A little pricy, but you get what you pay for and the food here is fabulous. We had the baby spinach salads to start and of course, the spoon bread....yummy! Fall Apple pork chop and twisted pork chops were our entrees. We ate every bite. Staff friendly and attentive.

We stayed at the historical Boone Inn and so it was 'a must' that we try their famous restaurant. Recently the restaurant started serving beer and wine; so we began our lunch with a nice cold beer. I ordered the 'daily special' which was a light cajun Tilapia sandwich with fries and my husband had the Tuna melt with salad.... More

My family of 6 stopped here on the way home from Christmas with relatives. Of the 6 meals we ordered, the pork chop itself was edible. My flavored tea was delicious so I drank 4 glasses to fill my tummy since my food sat untouched. If you are more interested in the aesthetic appeal of your food than taste, this... More

Wonderful waitier and top notch food and service. He brought me a sample of a dish that wasn't available yet that day, since we were going to check out and head back to Tallahassee.
